First time in a long time I was really looking forward to my weigh in... I have been reflecting on all the chatter on the site about what is healthy and what is not healthy... I have come to the conclusion that what is healthy for one person doesn't necessarily hold true for another person. I am eating about 60 grams of protein per day, whose to say that isn't plenty. The Doctors, the media, the health care professionals I don't believe that most of them have a clue as to what constitutes good nutrition. There are so many contradictory arguments as to what is healthy, meat eaters, paleo, low carb, high carb, fat free, low fat, vegetarian, vegan and the list goes on... I believe that a little common sense can go a long way into eating a healthy diet. If you didn't cook it, bake it and prepare it yourself then chances are it's processed and you shouldn't be eating it. If it's not fresh and alive you probably shouldn't be eating it. But what about the foods that you have to eat cooked, why have people tried to poo poo an these foods. The potato both sweet and regular for example or the plethora of beans that abound, full grain rice that hasn't been striped of its bran, oats and the like. I think people have gotten so caught up in trying to follow the advice of others that they are not teaching themselves what works for them. If you have a health issue or if you are over weight wouldn't it seem wise to study, explore and investigate what is best for your body and state of health? I think most of us need to take a really hard look at what we believe or think we believe and start asking questions.

The second thing I take notice of is all the house hold and personal hygiene products we use. I read an article yesterday on a "Health Website" touting the uses of White Vinegar manufactured by the Heinz Corporation. Do they not now that virtually all corn is GMO?? How is using a poison on your counters that you will prepare food on be safe and healthy! I guess cleaning products with all the names we can't pronounce of all the chemicals they use should be a no brainer but maybe not to all. Lemon Juice and Organic Vinegar can't be beat...

As for the body products... Use Organic Shampoo, Cream Rinse, Soap, Lotion, Moisturizer, lip stick, Make-up if you use it at all and Fluoride Free Toothpaste! The commercial brands of these products are pure poison and cause all types of illnesses and disease our bodies literally leach the chemicals into our blood stream, not good…

My last rant is the Water, water you drink, cook with and shower with. Buy the filter, use a distiller, drink distilled read up on what it takes to obtain safe pure water. Our bodies are largely made up of water it is really important to use clean water…

Merry Christmas everyone and thank you for caring!

You are correct! A person with heart disease in their family, might have to watch their fat intake and so on. You have to sift through all the information and take what works for you and apply it to your life. Different things work for different people at different times in their life. Merry Christmas to you too!
