Merry Christmas everyone! Well, the day after. We had a nice Christmas and plenty of eating of course.

I had a great run on the treadmill today. For the first time I ran 4.5 miles without stopping once! I was actually aiming to hit 5 miles, but my bra broke mid run! So I had to stop. I did it in about 45 min, so staying consistent with about a 10 min. mile. It's still not easy and I work up a huge sweat, but it goes to show again what you can accomplish if you just keep pushing yourself!

We also took the kids swimming this afternoon, so I did some laps there and then just played with the kids and played some water basketball.

My knees have been feeling pretty sore, so I may need to cut back on the running for a while. It's such a good workout though, it's hard not to do it now.

Hope you all had a nice holiday and will have a good weekend too.

Oh NO! Not a wardrobe malfunction! That could be dangerous, depending on how you're built! Great job with the running. I was on the treadmill today, too, but just walking a hill program. Everyone else seems to be running, but I know my knees can't take it. I still work up a good sweat. If you can't run, do you thing walking "hills" would be ok with your knees?

Great job on the treadmill, Rachel. 10 min mil for almost 5 miles that's awesome! Take care of your knees! While it heals you can focus on swimming and/or biking. It seems like your triathalon training is going well!

I know how hard it can be to scale back the running but when my knees started acting up, that's the only thing that helped them get better. But it won't be forever. It only took two weeks off of running for my knees to recover. If you only scale back, it will probably take a lot longer (or not help at all) so I recommend the cold turkey method. You can still do other forms of exercise in the interim, just not anything that stresses the knees. But great to see your continued commitment to exercise. Well done!
