livelifefully's Journal, 09 November 2008

I've had a tough weekend with the eating some. Doughy treats abound on weekends it seems and weaken my defenses. Then it goes straight to my stomach and the scale goes up again. The majority of eating was not too bad, just a little treat here and there and you know the routine.

I was in the mood to run tonight, which I normally do not do at night. So I hopped on my treadmill setting out to get in 3 miles. I did do a 3 mile run in 33 or 35 minutes. I also walked after that for a total of 60 minutes and 4.6 miles. It said 460 calories burned, so that was encouraging to see and might make up some for the monkey bread and coffee cake I ate today!

I really need to count the points this week to see if I can get to my goal of breaking 140. I am not worried about this goal, but just would like to do it for myself to finally see the 130's again. It's been years since I have.

Oh, another positive day was I was standing in line getting ready to sing for choir this morning and an older man said something about working out and I mentioned I am training for this triathlon. He said matter of factly, "you've lost a lot of weight from a year ago." Nice to hear. We all can be proud of ourselves for sticking with this and working so hard. I am proud to say I have been working out faithfully for 10 months now and have dropped 16 lbs and gained muscle too. I never have stuck with that as long as I have this time. Be proud girls and stay the course to reach your goals!

You are very inspiring!! Glad to see your journal today, as I am struggling w/ the treat here/ treat there, EVERY day for the last week or so, & I'm scared to see the #, since all my clothes are tight! You get me inspired as the weather is turning, I might otherwise be UNinspired! So thanks, & keep up the great work! Hugs, Heather

Yes, anytime you feel guilty eating a doughy treat, tell yourself that you've come a long way since last year. You're doing great, Rachel. Great to hear nice compliments, right! Keep up the great work.
