Glockgirl957's Journal, 09 November 2010

Ok, so I am in this challenge that started yesterday with my husband to run 10 minutes a day. Are you kidding me? I barely made it 7 minutes yesterday and I can hardly move today. I set out today with a stopwatch thinking it would be ok to run/walk as long as I actually was running for 10 minutes. My chest burns so bad when my heart rate gets up. I hate that feeling. I ran for two minutes! TWO. I buffered by walking rapidly for a total of 20 minutes but I feel like I am letting myself down and letting him down, how crazy is it that I cannot run for 10 minutes, I am young.

Well, it's early yet. Maybe I can do another 8 sometime during the day. For now I have a household to run, laundry to do, birthday presents to buy, vacuuming to do. My goal for today is to stay under my daily allotment of calories and to increase my water intake to 64oz. I just hope the scales are nicer to me tomorrow. Exercise sucks!

7 minutes is better than none. Just be consistent in doing a little more every day. Sooner than you realize it, you will be hitting your goal and more. Consistency is better than the actual amount. Without consistency, you have nothing - which is exactly where you started.

Don't they recommend like every other day for running? My legs hurt so bad from the 7 minutes yesterday that I can barely move. I used to bike with him when he would run, but I want to be able to run because sometimes on the bike I feel myself "coasting." Thanks for the support. I feel like I am failing already. Earlier this year I consistently lost weight. For months now I have been going back and forth between 3-4 pounds per week up and down. I really having been calorie counting, but now I am back to counting so we will see what happens.
