Carmel8sons's Journal, 20 October 2010

Well another bright sunny but freezing day. Hate the cold. God to win a share in the lotto, even 200,000 so I can buy a small place in the sun, and finish off this house. As I've tried everything to get a job and cant its the only way it will happen. I looked up Plastic surgery last night in Budapest, so cheap compared to ireland and I do know people who got it done and it went well for them. DREAMS & HOPES, but thats what makes life interesting.

This chest of mine killing me still, now Konrad and Roy have it. Could not sleep last night so I scrubbed the floors. Pups have it crawling no matter how much we keep washing it out. Puppy's, they need so much care and costly. Lads paying for it all but still cost. They cry when you put lights out when they are in bed.

Got phone call this morning about one of the C.E. Schemes I applied for, Its to do with Youth Work. does not start until Jan, think at this stage I'll change my "Path Of Study" as everyone thinks I will make a good carer. I know I will but I've cared for people all my life and would like a job that when I go home I can stop "worrying" about my job. This job is with an Orga, a goverment youth group that helped me out with 2 of my lads, brilliant people, I try do some things for them even now, and Konrad, Kraig & Kristofor help if needed, esp with arty things or even heavy lifting. Would love it as I know most of the kids in area, even our "problem" kids and I actually get on great with them. I like teenagers, they think they know it all but as you speak to them you know that they dont and some are quite frightened. There is no respect given to teenagers, all tarred with the same brush. Kids in our area are mainly lovely and even the "bold" ones have lovely ways about them. Dont think I've ever carried heavy bags from bus to house without one of them offering to carry my bags.

As you all see I'm in better form. Cant shut up. Ha hA

Good luck with the Youth Work postion! I'm sure teenagers love having someone who will LISTEN to them, and it sounds like you'd be great at it! :)

Carmel, sounds like this would be the perfect job for you!! Although it would entail worrying about them after hours, and not necessarily being able to leave your work at work, it also sounds like you would be the perfect person to help these teens. Good luck witht he job, and with the pups. Hope that you all start feeling better soon!

Carmel, I hope this works out for you. Sounds like you're exactly the right match for it. I admire anyone who can mentor and guide teenagers, esp. the more "challenging" ones. You definitely seem like someone who truly understands all the angst and drama they go through.
