Carb Tracker for Gina's Journal, 07 June 2013

Okay, so 14 hours in the car yesterday, a faulty treadmill at the hotel, but a PHENOMINAL discovery!!!!! Cracker BarreL Restaurants have a LOW CARB MENU. Not just a side or two, but at least 8 entrees and 4 sides. I had cajun catfish with turnip greens ( you actually get THREE SIDES, I ordered green beans 4c, sweet baby carrots 12c and turnip greens 2c) TWO pieces of catfish 2g. I gave my sister the carrots and green beans, so I had just the catfish and turnip greens. Had I been starving I would have ordered three sides of turnip greens ( I LOVE 'em). They also had a side salad which I think was 2 grams. They even listed the net carbs in the low carb salad dressing, which I believe were blue cheese and ranch, both under two. I can't remember what the other entries were except for a steak and pot roast. I'm sure there were chicken options but my mouth started watering at catfish.... SO 14 hours up, 14 hours back, but a wonderful discovery! Nice to have an "eat out" option with such EASY use!

BUT - no weigh in today. I will only weigh on my own scales. Really,w hat's the point in using anyone elses? I know I did fine, no problems, just being locked down in the car nonstop. I DID do the treadmill at midnight, but the air was off and it was 85 in there. I managed 45 minutes on a machine that told me I had done almost 4 miles. It also said I was doing 6.5 mph which I KNOW was wrong. I know how fast I walk and i made it go until I was walking the same speed I do at home (4 mph) but on this one it said 6.5 and I think maybe that was a little slower than what I do at home. Oh well, I tried AND I did get in some.... so I counted it as 45 minutes at 4mph which is 3 miles...... probably none today, but I'll survive. :)

14 hours in a car??? OMG. I would lose my mind. Kudos to you for managing through it AND sticking to plan. Thanks for the heads-up on Cracker Barrel! We should begin a thread that lists out all carb-friendly restaurants. I have been to a few, but cannot remember which ones now :) Have a safe and fun rest of your trip, Gina! All the best to you!
