OK...We have gained weight and are feeling unhealthy and bloated. We need an extreme kickstart.

Our thought is to go for one week on a low carb shock treatment of just fish and collards or another vegetable. Anybody got a drastic diet plan along those lines to recommend?

What about practicing portion control and counting your calories religiously? You need a deficit of 250-500 calories per day in order to lose 0.5 -1 lbs per week.

In the past I've done extreme low carb, or sometimes an egg fast for 4-7 days as a way to jump start things. The good thing is it'll put a stop to eating unhealthy carbs, flush things out, and get a quick drop in weight. Just have a plan of where you're going from there, as things like that aren't really sustainable and just lead to a yo-yo down/up if not followed up with a sustainable long term plan. Good luck!

I like your 1 week jump start idea .... might want to add egg whites and baked, skinless boneless, white meat chicken... brochlie is also "allowed" (not carrots or corn!)
