I use 1/4 lemon in my water everyday. It is good to help break down the fat. I forget to log it but I always have one in my water glass and leave it all day to leach in my water. I could never go without my coffee and I use heavy whipping cream organic and it shows no carbs but it could have a trace, I use organic stevia too in it. not worried about a trace carb at all. apple vinegar is good for you too. I use that in my salad dressings. I add a little hot sauce to that mix too

Not sure there are any “hacks” that work for everyone. Recently heard a researcher say that it’s dependent on the individual and what specific bacteria are living in their gastrointestinal trac.

I like lemon juice and mint in my water for the summer (in a glass bottle of course). I know some people swear by lemon water for weight loss. I don't know if it has weight loss benefits, but it's tasty. Not everything will work for everybody- do what you like and what works for you :-)

I haven't heard of this combination. I have to watch out for grapefruit juice and some of the medications I am on. Lemon Juice is a juice that I can have with my diabetes so I use it in tea.

I'm a huge fan of coffee (a lot of coffee) in am during exercise. Some bodybuilding sites advocate coffee while doing resistance training, it's basically a stimulant to help keep energy up. I use lemon on salad instead of dressing (sometimes vinegar without oil). No idea if it adds anything beyond "no calories", which is probably enough.Good luck with continued success.

Thanks all . Yes Siegel I follow some of the men body building sites they tend to say the same that caffeine in tandem with workouts can lead to increases in performances. And usually resulting in greater burns. I think most skinny women I knew would start the day with lemons or grapefruits .. I think a bit like with spicy food having a greater thermic effect, and ice cold water... the acerbic content might be credited with higher calorific requirements for consuming. But I will need to look into it more.

The only reason water helps for weight loss purposes is it helps keep you fuller, and less prone to eating more foods, therefore reducing portion size (controlling caloric intake essentially). Regardless of what you put into it, although mint can act as a natural appetite suppressant, lemon is acidic (may help appetite control to a minor degree) also can possibly help in a with controlling blood sugar spikes, mostly due to the fiber content. As far as caffeine goes it’s a natural diuretic, meaning it’ll make you urinate, hence “weight loss”. But the negative side to tea/coffee/soda etc. other caffeinated beverages, is larger consumption can lead to mild dehydration.

I have found that eating less is the only thing that works. It is hard but there are no hacks to it. Just keep you calories down and you will lose weight.
