M&S Diablo beef, tomato and Brie for lunch. Sea bass, spiralised butternut squash, spinach and rainbow cherry tomatoes for dinner. 😊 It’s nice but I’m constantly craving fruit ..... anyone else struggle with this on a low carb way of eating?

I eat small amounts of fruit for the nutrition but I also allow myself more carbs than most.🤷🏻‍♀️It’s a trade off. In the first two years I didn’t eat much fruit at all, but that wasn’t sustainable as a lifestyle. Now I eat small amounts and have frozen berries in the fridge and freeze pieces of banana as I use a quarter at a time, lol and use small amounts of dried cherries, dates, figs, and prunes as well as lemons, limes and kiwis. 🙋🏻

Thanks for commenting 😊 I really like low carb foods (over indulge in dairy though) but I also really miss fruits. Great idea about freezing bananas !!! I think I’ll reduce my fat intake (dairy) and up my sugars and get a bit of fruit down me! Happy to leave cereals, bread, rice and pasta etc but also worry that I’m missing out on some nutrients by leaving fruit out. How many grams of carb do have in a day? 😊

I fluctuate now that I’m close to my goal. LOL I’ve lost over 150 lbs so in the beginning I was REALLY strict and would only have some little bit of fruit once or twice a month. LOL 🤷🏻‍♀️Now my type II diabetes is under pretty firm diet control but I swing from insulin resistant to hypoglycemic without much warning so I keep my Net carbs well below 100g per day which is in line with a diabetic maintenance diet, but try for much closer to 35-55 g net carbs to lose a pound or two a month. This last 12 pounds has been my experimental weight to see what my WOE needs to be from now on. 💁🏻‍♀️I don’t advocate this many carbs for everyone, but you can have things in small portions, or added to your other foods that you might not think about. I use an old yogurt quart container and cut the bananas into 1” sections. About 2 or 3 of those is 1/4 of a large banana. So when I make a smoothie I can grab 3 and count on it. Or grind 3 into my almond milk for cereal if I REALLY want the taste of banana! LOL 😂 (Grinding fat bombs into smoothies is good too! LOL They are my ice cream! And I chunk frozen cherries into them! LOL I’m evil...) I freeze all sorts of flavors! My smoothie recipe is for a blender full so I split it into 3 and freeze 2 every time I make it. I like having a stockpile. It’s like Christmas! 🙋🏻

Been looking at having plain yogurt with passion fruit - comes in pretty low or half an orange etc when I’m craving something like that. Think I need to watch my cheese consumption .... and possibly avocado which o eat EVERY day!!!! Feel a bit stuck but need to crack on!!😊
