Today should be interesting. I'm on a low calorie day but I am going out tonight on a double date. So I've had to plan tonight's meal this morning. Ah well, I'll live. At as a bonus I will get to enjoy a beer, something that I have so rarely these days it astounds me.

I burned over 1000 kcals last night during the kickboxing session. This doesn't include the 5K run I took the dog on before class. I'd worry about over training but I feel great this morning. Of course, the only exercise I have planned today is a short gym workout, so maybe the euphoric feeling is simply relief.

Ah, and I got some good news the last night as well. My martial arts instructor is holding a Woman's Self Defense course (the one that he's been trying to set up for about a year now). I will get to be the "attack dummy" in the giant padded suit when the class takes place in late April. Hopefully no injuries follow from that. :) I'm actually looking forward to it, since I think self defense is one of those important life skills that is too often overlooked.

oh I hope the pads hold up! lol Now that I am 'fit' I am curious at learning some good martial arts, especially for self defense. Maybe someday. LOL about your low cals during a double date. You are suppose to rig it so the high cals land on these kinda days! Just ONE thought -how much cals are you burning? You don't want your deficit to be too high. (starvation mode) idk, you remember how much calories Michael Phelps said he ate during the summer olympics -that was just to maintain. I got into heavy workouts too last summer I lost an inch but no weight/fat. You might want to ask around/google how much cals you should eat w/ that much of an activity level. A 5k AND a kickboxing class... at least we can say you CAN kick ass! Kudos, have a great weekend

Thanks Cindy. I'm burning about 3800 to 4000 kcals per day on heavy days. Light days it is closer to 3000 kcals. Not quite Phelps level of calorie burn but still about 1200 to 1600 more than I eat on heavy days and about 1000 more than I eat on light days.

That I can promise you. I'll be up for anything after that. I still have a month to go, though, before I declare success, victory, or no change on the zig-zag calorie plan.
