Wow, what a weekend. Where did it go. Boys played a great game Saturday. It was HOT!!!! We won and play tonight at 7 pm tonight, better than 1:30 game for sure. We as parents are a bit frustrated as we were told no more bringing in coolers for the kids, only coller jug of water. They said not enough money was being made off the concessions. When gatarade is $2/ can't afford not to bring in your own. Especially when the boys are drinking several bottles a game. We understand they are trying to raise money for their local team, but we are already having to pay to get into the games each time. Luckily they aren't charging the players to play too! And then Thursday night when we played, the concessions closed before our team finished playing even so the boys couldn't get water or gatarade after the games. Oh well, they don't let you bring into major sporting events either. We will make sure we have cooler in truck in case the concessions are closed again tonight before game is over.

Sunday we just took it easy. After church, we pulled into the house and noticed buzzards around the front pond. We went to see what it was and counted 8 dead bass. We are going to have to get rain soon or we will end up losing more fish I am afraid. Can't aford to install anything in the pond to oxygenate the water unforunately. We lost several catfish about 3 years ago when we got dry. There is plenty of water still, just with the heat their isn't enough oxygen for the larger fish to survive.

When it finally cooled down at 7:30 (was only 100 degrees outside by then) we went swimming. The boys are doing great. The oldest (7) is now swimming on his own, no floats, no noodle to support him. I knew he could do it, just had to let him do it on his own. The youngest (2) is swimming also, more like dog paddling. He has one of those float swim suits to hold him up and he just paddles all over the pool. Our pool isn't deep, just one of those Easy up 15 x 42 which is perfect size for the boys. Travis in places can on toes feel the bottom and for Nathan not over his head so he is comfortable swimming. My husband is not a good swimmer either so he can sit in the water and play around with the boys. Husband actually sinks like a rock :). He doesn't like any water over his head and also fears heights. We've never done lessons due to me working full time, so I have just been teaching the boys each summer. I tried last year to get Nathan to swim independent of arm floats, but husband kept telling me to not force him, again, Brad doesn't like water and doesn't want Nathan to fear it either. I learned by my dad just throwing me out in the water and having me swim back to him :)

Weight back down from bloat and under 160 again. Now need to progressively go down closer to 150s :)

Hope everyone has a great week!!! And plan smart eating for the 4th Celebrations. I am planning to make some of my WW Fruit Salad, eat lots of watermelon, and drink water, water, water!!!! Plan to enjoy a hamburger too, but will make them small and eat on wheat buns to cut down the calories a bit. Also, must stay away from salty chips!!! That has been my pitfal this past week, TOM and wanted salty foods. I plan to make some homemade sweet potato chips to cure the craving.

Great plan for the weekend ahead! That sucks about not being able to bring your own coolers in for the players. Maybe they'd sell more if they lowered their prices a bit. Watermelon is a great idea for Saturday. I'll have to buy some fruit for whatever my family ends up doing.

my mom was afraid of the water like that, she put me in swimming lessons. Its fun to see kids learn to swim isn't it? My daughter is 6- almost ready to let go of the floaties :) I can't wait! fruit salad sounds so delicious, its hot here.

Mmmmm... watermelon. I just had some today! It's such a summer treat. Your pool sounds like fun. Good that you're working with the kids so they don't "catch" their dad's discomfort with water. Great idea to keep a cooler in the car in case the concession stand closes. Have a great week!
