HealthyBabs's Journal, 26 January 2011

All is good for today, aside from the 3 inches of snow yesterday which resulted in a 2 hour commute for 15 miles and 8-10 more inches due for this afternoon and into tonight, definately going to work from home tomorrow.
Working on getting ready to start a committed exercise plan with accountability to getting it done. I think that will really help since I think currently I am of the opinion that if I don't do it, nobody is going to know except me. I excuse myself way too often!
I have been working on striking the right balance of diet/exercise and making progress towards a more consistent weight loss. My chart looks like the reichter scale of aftershocks after an earthquake!

Have a good day everyone and will catch up with you all later tonight!

Hey Babs-I had the same issue yesterday. You would think people would get used to how to drive in the snow. I didn't think we got that much yesterday, but I still had to break out the snow blower last night. It actually prevented me from my typical 40 minute bike ride. Oh well, at least I did something. I didn't watch Channel 3 this morning, so I don't know if they've named it yet, but they were probably running school closing for today, even though the storm isn't supposed to start 'til this evening. I used to like the snow, but I think it is contributing to the funk I've been in for the last few days. There are other factors, but the snow is definitely one of them.

Sorry for my lack o' clarification, Babs. No, no, no, I have a recumbent exercise bike in Mantown (a.k.a. our third bedroom). I ride intervals for about 40 minutes while playing a game of Madden on the PS3. It says I go about 10.5 miles. I don't know if I'm being selfish, but here's my quandary: 1) We don't have kids yet so I get that room to myself. 2) I chose to lose weight and Man-town is the perfect place in which to do it. 3) Part of the reason why I bought a reclining bike way back when was to encourage my "swimmers". Here's the rub, once one of my swimmers "gets across the Channel," Mantown begins a 9 month metamorphosis into a nursery, and I lose my workout room.

CMR - Good for you on doing what you need to do to get those pollywogs on the move! Sorry you will have to move out of Mantown when that does happen but I don't think you will really mind. Maybe you and the PS3 and recumbent will have to move it down to the basement? My hubby has a recumbent bike in his Mantown too! hee-hee

Dang, Just made adjustments to my food journal for today. Stayed pretty well within what I planned, but I gave blood this morning and they made me drink the orange juice and eat the oreos before I could leave. Threw me off a bit on my macronutrient and sodium for the day. That's OK...no worries, back after it tomorrow.

Did have a good success today though, instead of taking the elevator this morning, I opted for the 100 stair (3 flight) climb in boots, winter coat, toteing laptopbag, lunch bag and purse and then had to trudge across campus for a 9am blood donation appt. Boy was I ever puffing carrying around that extra weight...how did I ever do it bfore? Oh, I know, I never took the stairs!
