Diea's Journal, 01 November 2017

I didn't take monthly numbers yet. I think I'll do that this weekend. I'm looking forward to weighing in, actually. I might get back in to the 150's this month!

For now, I just have my calendar and my monthly recap:

FITNESS

I got a lot of workouts done during the month of November. I didn't get to my incremental goals for every week: 5 days of pilates + 1 day of yoga + 3 days of cardio. I had more rest days on account of the insane heatwave that passed through SoCal. Also, I started a part time job mid-month and am getting used to the new schedule. Regardless of all of these things, I'm still happy that I worked out all that I did. I will keep prioritizing exercise as I have been doing for the last two months.

DIET

Well, the "learning curve" is over. My body is used to eating the lower calorie amount a day. That was a great hill to overcome! Talk about challenging. So, I have been consistent with my calorie counting, and I usually stay somewhat close to or at my 1500 caloric goal. My body is asking for cheat meal every 7-10 days. If time goes by and I haven't allowed myself a cheat meal, I get so hangry. It's almost funny. I am not trying to be healthy at all with these YOLO meals. I go all out, passing the 2000 calorie mark. And it feels great. The next day, I get a good workout and go back to my lower calorie mark.

Thank you for the support, FS fam! It's helping me not punish myself for being shy of my goals. Seriously. It's very helpful. <3

I hope the calendar idea works well for you, Lisa Coons! It was initially difficult because I started wanting to put everything down. I had to be super disciplined to only write actual workouts that I completed. Sometimes I want to write a workout before I do it, and sometimes I want to write excuses. Like that 103 degrees temperature. It's a learning process for me. All my best to you with this!! It's effective, that's for sure.

love the idea of only writing a workout down ONCE I've COMPLETED it. or maybe use a highlighter IF I complete it, that way I can schedule my workouts in (on my calendar) and still feel good (or bad possibly) as the month goes on and more color shows up on the calendar?? Thoughts?

I think you should definitely try stuff out and do what you need to do. I already think my calendar looks pretty busy, so adding a layer of highlights might make me feel a bit stressed out. However, if it works for you, go for it!!! We learn the most of ourselves through risk-taking and trial-an-error. Best of luck on your highlighting!!
