Snow=stress. Live on a steep hill, that the City doesn't even try to plow, and it snowed again. First, the mailman got stuck, after doing a 360 due to the slick conditions. Tried to dig him out, but he was wedged in tight. Then, headed off myself to a business lunch. Just as I approached the bottom of the hill, a car started up and they lost control and started spinning in front of me. As stopping was not an option, to avoid hitting them, took the truck up onto the curb. (Kind of cool, as the "curb" was a 3' pile of frozen ice.) She ended up on west side, stuck; I was on east side, stuck. Our bumpers were 6" apart - but we didn't hit each other! Completely blocked the street - if another car would have crested the hill and started down - Ouch. Managed to get out of that predicament, just as husband arrived to help. After a quick kiss, I headed off to my lunch meeting, and he headed to our house, at top of hill. Only to get stuck near the top. (This hill is a killer in winter.) Later that day, daughter was driving from Chicago to Indianapolis for her job - and semi jackknifed a mile in front of her. Completely closed the road, so she sat on Interstate for three hours. Slowly using her fuel and cell phone battery. Road finally opened, she headed to next exit (15 miles) and got a motel for night. Then, mama (me) went and had a lovely glass of red wine....

Soon... soon... soon it will be warm. No snow, no ice. Lovely dream...

This winter is truly AWFUL!! I hve 25 miles to drive to my weight watcher meeting, I had to drive 35 miles an hour because of the snow and slippery roads - but I got there! Luckily roads were better coming home. Glad that both you and your daughter are safe! Just think how good we'll look by the time spring arrives!
