Momma324's Journal, 06 June 2016

After a significant gain, I decided to change my diet, as well as my goal weight.

The goal I had set was only the first part of my bigger goal. My heaviest was 237lbs in June of 2014. I have set my goal to 137. 100 lbs lighter than my heaviest weight.

I dug out my husband's Gear Fit, and downloaded more fitness apps.

I can never seem to stick to a diet. I always feel deprived. I always fail. So my focus will be on making healthier choices, controlling portions, drinking lots of water, and most importantly, being more active.

I won't be "dieting" anymore. I will be making healthy changes that will replace bad habits, and together, will become a whole new lifestyle.

Great attitude! I hate the word "diet" and diets truly do not work. For long term success it MUST be a change in lifestyle, something you can live with (and be healthy) long term!

Exactly! I can lose 10 pounds easily on a diet. I just can't ever keep it off. A cheat day turns into a cheat weekend, and I fall off the wagon.

Thats what Im trying to do. Im hooked on dehydrated mango's, there is so much sugar in those I have to quit eating them. I've been drinking more water and exercising more then I used too, I need to add more veggies to my diet. I lose weight then it comes back. Im going to my daughters wedding in Hawaii in September and MUST lose weight.

Yes...you have the perfect attitude! I just saw a video this morning that captures the essence of everything you said. I hope this link works. This is Dr Sara Solomon...I follow her for intermittent fasting...but her principles apply to any lifestyle you are currently following. Good luck Momma! www.youtube.com/watch?v=bxRyWYcuJLE
