So, I'm thinking about supplements. I don't take anything and have had different things mentioned. Anyone take L-Carnitine? GPL? Green Tea Extract? CLA?

I swear by Green Tea in any form...not as a replacement for healthy eating or exercise, but I do notice a change in my metablism and energy levels. I started cold brewing tea last summer because i had given up soda the summer before and really struggled with drinking enough fluids. I usually drink a 24 ounce diluted iced green tea with a few citrus wedges but no sweetener every single day before lunch. Doing this consistently last summer really jumpstarted the weight loss I've been steadily maintaining since then. I have green tea supplements as well, which i do take in a pinch, but i much prefer to drink mine :)

i hope you dnt buy anything the supplement industry w/o any doubt is the biggest scam in the health industry, 98% of them are shit unless you lift weights,no magic pill will make you lose weight, it will just cost you money ? gpl? cla? wth are those.remember there are no shortcuts in life, and losing weight is no different

I agree there are no magic pills, but there are things that can be beneficial aids...however i do not think that supplements are a scam. I have fibromyalgia and manage it 98% holistically, with a barrage of supplements. Every 6 months or so I go off some of the supplements to make sure they are still helping me. I have not gone on any narcotics or script painkillers thanks to relying on natural remedies (nor have i gone on the recommneded Lyrica or Celebrex...thank God!). I do take aspirin on occasion to combat a flare up though. People think supplements are a cure all and they are not...every person is different and needs to research what supplements may benefit them....and also which supplements need to be taken in conjunction with other supplements. I took Vitamin D and magnesium occasionally but did not notice any major improvements until I found out they should be taken together!

Done the L-Carnitine in conjunction with B complex and Chromium Piccolinate. Dr. Atkins recommended that in at least one of his books. It did help with the sugar cravings quite a bit. I also used to eat a pretty hefty amount of fat in the morning when I got up, just to keep myself satiated. I had ample amounts of "safe" snack foods handy as well. The hardest thing for me in the warmer months - was not having ice cream. So, I found the recipe for the Cream Cheese clouds- and that was a lifesaver! I drink green tea regularly, so I don't take supplements for that. I do take other supplements- like Iodoral, oregano oil, bromelain, magnesium, etc.
