EDIT: Brunch is served! Chayote, Mexican squash, a giant panfried chicken breast and fried plantain(in butter.) Washed down with lots of coffee and water with citrus punch for taste.
Finished the day yesterday after that big brunch by going to Del Taco for dinner, surely my weight would go up this morning, right? Especially when you consider that my exercise bike died a week ago and the new one is still in my car in the box. Well, I was wrong. This morning I made the lowest weight in over 30 years, 169.4. Proof positive that my diet thing that I evolved in bits and pieces that I learned from others and from my life experience works, even missing an important component- light exercise.
Yet my e-book sales are not happening. So the next step, now that I am getting the title and cover change done, is to set up a free campaign on Amazon. I have a couple friends and relatives with huge Facebook followers or whatever it is called, and they are going to put up the link for the 5 day "sale."
For the potential authors out there who are thinking about putting an e-book up on Amazon, there is a program called Kindle Select and they offer a couple of ways to get your e-book noticed, a reduced price event or a free promotion. Now when it is free, obviously they don't bill them in any way so there is no revenue coming in for the author.
But all those downloads are counted and they move you up the search results, that is the benefit to the new writer. Obviously that is what I am looking for here.
I am pretty sure this site frowns on someone pitching a product here for money but what about free? Any thoughts on that? If any of you are prediabetic, insulin resistant and overweight and are looking for ideas, PM me and when the free period begins after the 1st of January, I will be happy to send you the link, no quid pro quo, this is my way of helping some as others have helped me here. I will not post it in a journal entry as I wouldn't want to be accused of spamming the site, this will just be a one time deal, every three months Amazon allows the free thing, that's all.
