13th ski, 6.92 miles, 76 miles for the season. First part was off trail on breakable crust, so a challenge. Fell once in snow so deep it was hard to get up. PB and sauerkraut sandwiches on the ride home. Don't knock it 'til you've tried it ;-)

My fiance who died owned a pizza parlor and got me to try a peanut butter pepperoni pizza. I was surprised.

I'm having a hard time imagining PB + pepperoni, and I eat a lot of weird things with PB. Did you like it?

I am going to have one as a second breakfast. lol. I only have pb2 powder and almond butter so I will mix both together. Will report back later.

honeebuns, I'll be interested in your assessment. I'd be sure to drain the sauerkraut well so it doesn't get soggy. Diana -- I've loved PB and dill pickles since I was a kid. I figured this wouldn't be that much different

WYO. I made a half sandwich open faced on toasted pumpernickel/ rye bread. That’s the only bread I have in the home right now. Definitely YES it is delicious and I would swap this in / out for the PB/DP sandwich. Posted a pic on my journal…. 😁

Awesome, honeebuns! So glad you liked it. I know people usually go PB + sweet, but PB + savory is my preferred

Definitively some interesting thoughts here. I've never really considered eating peanut butter with dill pickles or sauerkraut, but I'll give it a whirl sometime if nothing else my daughter may very much enjoy it as she loves pickles and likes peanut butter as well. The idea of peanut butter and savory is not that strange of a concept to me after all there's peanut pad Thai and some people combine that with chicken as well so the concept of peanut butter and meat is not odd to me nor is the idea of savory and peanut butter. Ketchup is another unusual item that can be turned into a delicious sauce that you might not expect. Both are used as sauce bases in our local Thai restaurant which is a favorite restaurant of Ryan and I.

RPL. Expand the palette and give it a go ! If you are worried about carbs just smear some PB on a dill pickle. Way back in college over 43 years ago I had a bunch of people at a college party eating PB on dill pickles .To this day I wonder if it stuck or was something they experienced under the alcohol influence and forgot about the next day. LOL. Growing up my mom ate PB and pickle sandwiches and I thought it was gross. I was probably 25 out on my own before I gave it a try.

I try not to be too close-minded about my food choices I'm already funny about my foods anyway so I've already limited my food choices because of this by default. But I try to be understanding because I don't want to be that way I don't want to limit my food choices because there's so many wonderful things out there to eat. As a person with limited economic standing I've already limited my food choices because of economics anyways. But some of the best foods I've ever eaten came from people of lower economic backgrounds. Going back to those sauce bases I was talking about earlier the reason why I know how the bases are made out of peanut butter and ketchup is I know how they're made because I've talked to the people who make them. I know how to make the sauces; and their simple sauces to make and honestly flipping delicious. I can make both sauces at home with few ingredients because they use items so I don't have a lot to the sauce to have a good tasting product (not very healthy though). But speaking of weird combinations and poverty growing up I knew of a lot of strange foods that came out of necessity/poverty and I'll give you two examples one of them was peanut butter and mayonnaise. Grandma's husband when he was young growing up never had the access to jam (great depression) because it was too expensive they grew up eating peanut butter and mayonnaise and as an adult he's still ate peanut butter and mayonnaise and loved it. My mom grew up in an age in area in Georgia where it was very common to eat ice cream of a savory sort and I guess where they were close to the ocean they had oyster ice cream. Now personally that blows my mind the idea of savory ice cream and more than that oyster ice cream just sounds an appetizing. But to each their own and I would give it a try if it was offered for free.

I'm in! I will try that combo. Thanks for speaking up. @Leah_guffey--my mom grew up in Chicago and fed us PB and Miracle Whip. She would send us to Springfield on the train with them because they traveled well, not messy. Wondering how they got started all those years ago? Were they something regional? Thanks for the memories! You made me smile!
