First cross country ski of the season. Yeah, that's the trail - we were the 1st to ski that one this season. 3 hrs & 40 min, 6 miles and almost a 400 foot gain in elevation. We came down a different, easier trail than this one. Definitely tired!

Wow. Snow already!!

We got a smattering in town, Morticia, but up top it looked like about 4-5 inches. Enough for a lovely day skiing. It's melting fast, so conditions will be too poor tomorrow. I was really fortunate that the one good day to ski was on my day off. My goal for this winter is at least 20 ski days and at least 100 miles.

How wonderful that your timing brought you to that moment you’d captured on camera! Great workout in nature’s gym! Curious…Is this the area that we recently seen the beautiful yellow aspens? Great goals 🎿 ❄️

Same area, yes, FoodyDuty. In fact, there are still a lot of places where the leaves are still on the aspens, so we had both the foliage and the snow 😊

More nopes. I really would love to boycott winter this year, especially the cold & ice (the snow is pretty, as long as it's not where I drive or walk, lol)

CarbAbuser -- winters would feel a lot longer here if we didn't have a way to get out and play in the snow. This area is about 2500 feet higher than where we live, so in town, it was a beautiful fall day. There's an advantage to driving to winter instead of living in it. We get plenty of winter where we live, but not as much as up here

Wow!!! Snow it looks beautiful but I'm definitely not ready for it lol.

I'm both ready for it and also not, buenitabishop 😉 This time of year can be a shock to the system! Fall doesn't really occur on a smooth continuum here. It's more like we get alternating days of winter and summer for a while

Beautiful! We rarely get snow but if I was a skier (I'm not), Tahoe is just an hour or so away

Never been to Tahoe, Fritzy, but I've seen photos and it looks amazing. We haven't been downhill skiing in years and years. Just so expensive. We do sometimes talk about spending another winter as ski bums after we retire, working at a ski resort. That's what we were doing when we were first married
