Looks delicious! 

What is the green square things? lol 

In spanish, they are known as calabasas. To me they are some sort of squash and look like a lighter colored zuchini. Folks in Mexico fry them and put them in caldo, soup usually with chicken, beef etc. They taste great! 

I also discovered that the hot sauce, Cholula, goes well on the calabasas. Try it.
