Trying to eat more intuitively, as in not tracking, but eat in the manner that worked for me when I was. Today, we're on for the black bean and corn salad. I do find I need to still measure grains, as they're so easy to overdo.

Went to the doctor yesterday for my annual "nope, no thyroid cancer" appointment and had an NSV. The nurse who did my intake made a "skinny Minnie" comment when she was trying to get the blood pressure cuff situated on my arm. (LOL!)

My car is on the fritz and may be dead, so I'm back to walk commuting. Frankly, it was the kick in the pants I needed to get back to walk commuting. It's only a mile to the office. Yesterday I had to haul my laptop back to the office, so the backpack was a little heavy. I think I should get extra points for that.

Trying today to break the Diet Coke habit. I know it's dreadful stuff, but I've had a hard time giving it up at the office. I also know it tends to fuel over-snacking.

289 days to go until retirement... not that I'm counting...

Have a great day, everyone!

I have not given up caffeine free, diet soft drinks totally but have cut back to less than one a day. I take water with me now when I have to eat out and drink water and decaffeinated tea during the day but found that sipping on diet caffeine root beer at night relieves my GERD. I have not found much else that does other than my taking ACV twice a day which I do.

Morticia -- definitely, fizzy drinks can help with stomach upsets sometimes. At least that's my experience. At home, I stick with flavored seltzer and kombucha. I had to cut back on caffeine because it was fueling anxiety

Thanks, buenitabishop! Just got good news from my husband. We may be able to repair it

A 2-mile round trip commute is an extra 200 kcal added to your NEAT. Plus you save money on gasoline. And get your vitamin D. So many reasons to keep it!💚

Indeed, JB. Today I have errands, so I'll drive, but I want to get back in the habit

Thanks, Misty! I'm definitely looking forward to it. Elizabeth -- yeah, I know the stuff is evil 😈 I don't bring it into my house, but I run out of steam and look for a boost at work. I'm working on it! Have started to pack a big thermos of decaf, and I've restocked my tea bags in the office

Good news on the “No Cancer!”

Thanks, Redporchlady 😊 It's really no biggie, just an annual ritual. I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in 2008 and was treated in early 2009. It was a variant with a 99%+ survival rate, and I'd put the odds of recurrence at vanishingly small, but they still want to check things once a year. There's never a worry on my part on this one
