I'm not very good about sticking to any type of diet, so not sure why I lost the little I did. But, I am thankful, whatever the reason! My doctor had me try two weeks with no artificial sweetener and no dairy. It really wasn't all that hard. I just used real sugar, and tried to use less of it, and I cut out the cheese, ice cream, etc. I eat very little ice cream, anyway; I just keep some in the fridge for the times I decide I want some. I also discovered that I like almond milk (except for the fact that it's more expensive) and I think I will try to stick with it. My two weeks are up now, and I have had a little cheese on my sandwiches a couple of times, but still not using artificial sugar, and limiting my dairy products ~ no milk, only occasionally a little sour cream on my potatoes.
189.4 lb Lost so far: 10.6 lb.    Still to go: 34.4 lb.    Diet followed poorly.

I'm on a similar diet for two weeks. I'm glad is not that hard for me as well. Congrats on your weight loss Tai!

Tai Lin, get some (preferably organic) Stevia to use in lieu of sugar or chemical sweeteners. It's from a plant, zero calories, and even sweeter than sugar. Expensive but much better for you! I have a bunch of stevia seedlings on my counter, can hardly wait to harvest my own.

Arte, I tried Srevia some time back and didn't like it. I can't remember why now, but I stuck to my Splenda. Then, when the doctor had me quit artificial sweeteners and dairy for two weeks, I went back to regular sugar. Now that the two weeks are up, I am still not using artificial sweeteners, although I have to admit I haven't been checking ingredients to see if I am getting it some other way besides adding it myself. I may try the Stevia again. I'm using almond milk instead of cow's milk, and find I like it just fine. It says on the bottle, or carton, that it has twice the calcium of regular milk. How will you prepare your Stevia once you harvest it?

Great job Tai! I, myself gain so much weight using any table sugar! I hope that you don't! Arte, I found Liquid Stevia in a concentrated form, at the health food store. It is not as expensive this way. Much success to you Tai!~Ann

Thanks for the tip, Ann, will look for some. Hate using all those individual packets - such a lot of waste! Terri, you may have used too much stevia, which can cause it to taste bitter. Try using maybe a quarter of what you would use of sugar and see how that works for you. I'll be making liquid tincture once I have enough leaves to harvest. I'm down 2.6 pounds this week!
