I know this is bad, but I'm trying not to eat anything until I go out for dinner tonight. I want to save my calories. DH and I are finally going out together to a really nice place and I still want to be good, but would like to enjoy something without worrying too much and perhaps get something different. I keep saying I'll order fish, but I haven't had meat in so long. I would love to have lamb (Mom is English). We are going to Longwood Gardens and have reservations for the 1906 Fine Dining Room. Might have to have a nice glass of wine with dinner!

Thank you. Had an absolute blast. Really needed this. A much needed "date" for DH and I. Everything is always including our wonderful daughter, but I feel that we have grown apart because we haven't had "us" time. My birthday was in December and my MIL gave us two tickets to get in and $75.00 towards dinner (it still cost a good $60.00 more--LOL). Wonderful time. I am not even attempting to total my calories.

Sounds like a nice night out. It's arguable but I have done the same thing although when I do this it seems like I never can eat that much. Personally I am not into Lamb but I do hear it is nutritionally sound and really good for you. Have an amazing weekend.

Michael--there wasn't that much there to eat--LOL. I was surprised. It was one of those beautiful to the eye meals, with just the right amount of food--for someone who is dieting. LOL. It was a lot for me because of dieting, but for anyone else...I think they would need dessert. LOL. I think what got me was the alcohol. I was in a partying mood--celebrating my birthday from December. I almost bought some lamb last week for treat, but I put it back when I saw all the fat on it. It's definitely a treat--that and lobster are my two fav meals.

Sorry, I read it wrong. Still, I am glad you had a good time, after all happiness is what really matters (I think that is.) I didn't mean to insinuate anything bad, personally it frustrates me when I can only eat like half of what I order, especially if or when I feel the meal was pricey (lol I'm cheap lol) which is anything over $10.

LOL--Michael, no offense taken :) I'm with you--it was pricey. We expected the food amount to be more. I guess I'm glad it wasn't because of my diet, but still 11.00 for a salad and 26.00 for Salmon? The wine was 9:00 each for the white, then 11:00 for the red. I didn't even look at the margarita price. My hubby said the portion was smaller than what my diet portion is. LOL. It was fun and I want to do it again, though.
