AHHHH, HELP ME, HELP ME, HELP ME! I wanna eat; I wanna eat; I wanna eat; I WANNA EAT!

I've maxed out my carbs, I've had 2 fat bombs (they were soo good btw), and even though I don't normally drink it this time of night I'm making coffee to control the appetite. I'm craving SWEETS. I don't know what to do. According to my B.O. I'm still not back in ketosis the scales aren't moving and I'm fighting cravings for the first time during this transition. I know I messed up earlier in the week but I've been a very good girl since then. Getting back into ketosis has never taken this long in the past; it makes me think there is something else going on. Is it PMS? It is about time for that. But, I didn't have these problems last month, so what the heck man. Help! How do you deal with sugar cravings like this. I feel I'm going to go insane. Is it the low cals? But, I've been this low and lower without cravings. Is it because it is Saturday? My usual cheat day. Maybe, just maybe. But the cause isn't quite as big the concern as fighting the craving. I don't know how long I will be able to keep up this fight tonight. I'm not stressing yet but I am starting to feel a bit obsessed. Any suggestions out there on how to beat back sugar cravings? I could really use them right now.

Have a dill pickle. The opposite of sweet. And go to bed!

The coffee seems to be helping. I will try the pickle next if the craving keeps up. But after the coffee the going to be will require a couple of melatonin. Let's see out the night plays out. Thanks for the suggestions.

I have been doing tea with a caramel flavored sugar free syrup from Davinci. It tastes like a dessert with no calories and trace carbs. If you do a decaf tea you can do it at night without staying up all night, lol.

and Go To Bed!

Nich, that is not a bad idea. I've been drinking flavored green tea sometimes with splenda. I did put the splenda in my coffee (about 1/2 a pack) maybe that is why the coffee seems to be helping. I will have to look for this sugar free syrup you speak of, it may help in the future. Truthfully, I thought of the Starbucks mocha frappuccino earlier and I think that is what set me off. If is one of my fav drinks. That is also part of why I choose coffee, I figured that it was similar enough that it might help.

Walmart has the Davinci syrups with the coffee flavorings. There's french vanilla, caramel, and I think raspberry . If you love it, Amazon has it in big bottles for much less money.

you could try making a fruit smoothie and adding some flavored protein powder. You get the sweetness you're craving while having something that's healthy.

Ok, guys I figured out what is going on. I have not maxed out my carbs; quite the opposite really. I am very under. This is what happened. I made a cabbage soup today and put the recipe in my recipe book. I did this before it was complete and put the servings based on my family size not thinking about left overs. Come to find out I was way off on how much I'd made. I put the servings at 5 when it is really more like 15. Now that I've adjusted the servings to reflect the true amount I am down to only a little over 11 net carbs for the day. Goodness no wonder I'm hungry. I'm gonna go wrestle me up something to eat. But thanks for the great suggestions. I will be keeping them in mind to add to my strategy.

Princess, I did something similar to that but I don't have the protein powder. I blended plan greek yogurt with blueberries and splenda. Taste good and gets me to where I need to be with those missing carbs.

So sorry it took me so long to respond. I just got onto my computer. I am on the Jorge Cruise 100's plan and he suggests only using Stevia/Tuvia sugar substitute as they arenatural sweeteners. He also suggests to have a small bite of very good dark chocolate when you have a craving. I bought a Ghirardelli unsweetened baking bar and plan to make Lace cookies. You taught me something as I forgot about Ketosis and googled it. Wikipedia has a very technical explanation, a little over my head. I love Fage greet 0% yogurt. I mix chopped nuts and a few blueberries in it and find it is a great snack. I cup per serving. It has 0 sugar calories as it doesn't spike your insulin. So glad you figured out what was happening to your body. I was told that the syrups are not good as they contain artificial sugars such as sucralose. Also avoid NutraSweet and Equal. Sucralose (Splenda) and saccharin (Sweet N' Low) as they overexcite neurons in the brain, causing degeneration malfunction and it can't communicate with other parts of your body. Also Cascade Ice lemonade contains sucralose also. Go to www.foodecate.com maryvorl

Funny, for some reason I thought splenda was a stevia product, don't know where I got my wires crossed at. I tried tuvia in the past but didn't like the after taste, but the same used to be true of splenda. I guess when this box runs out I will try the truvia next as I have wondered if the stevia is playing into some of the sugar cravings I'm still having. Though the night of this journal entry was the worst by far. I have had very dark chocolate in the past and that did help. I like the Lindt Excellence 90% cocoa. A serving size is 4 pieces with 7 net carbs but I usually only eat one square at a time bringing the net carbs to under 1. I've run out of it and will have to get some more when I go grocery shopping later in the week. Thanks for the heads up on the sweeteners.

Try Carb Cylcing!
23 Mar 15 by member: ironfriend
Ironfriend, I seem to be doing that when I have my cheat days. It just happened that this past week my cheat day came without planning it. Up until I messed up this past week, both with an unexpected high carb day and an accidental too low a carb day, my plan has been working well for me. But thanks for the resource it was an interesting read.

try 3 days low carb or zero carb, afterwards 2 days high carb and so on... It is always the best way to try things...your body is always different...what worked for you at the beginning might not work now... Just my experience as trainer and athlete...:-)
