I made homemade whole wheat bread in the crockpot last night. That was fun, but I need to make some adjustments to the technique and recipe for next time. I don't have anything to eat with my bread as well, so I'll be coming up with some interesting meals so it doesn't go to waste.

I've gotten behind on taking my Magnesium and I can tell the difference. The probiotics are still working, but there is a difference and we'll leave it at that.

Today, we will have my party to celebrate my leaving the company. I've bought cupcakes from a bakery around the corner, and my coworkers have promised me hot wings and fries. This will be my first meat in a month, so I won't have too much. I brought my own lunch so I won't be forced to feel up on the bad stuff.

I sent an email to HR yesterday asking for them to terminate my employment this Friday. I pointed out that it's the last day of the pay period and that would make for a clean break. Really, I just need a few days off before committing to the next several years of employment. HR hasn't responded.

Alright, I've got some light work to accomplish today. Let me get to it.

Onward...

I have always wanted to cook bread in a crockpot, but I have never got around to it. Does the bread have the same rise and texture as homemade bread baked in the oven? I hope you have a great day.

No, crockpot bread is denser due to the heat difference: oven vs. crockpot. According to the article that I read yesterday, the quick heat of the oven causes the bread to rise. The slow and lower heat of your crockpot, will cause rising but not as much. Just go into it knowing that your first loaf is going to be a test loaf. I have a tiny 2qt crockpot and followed the instructions of another person with the same equipment yet my bread didn't have the same result. For example, he put the lid on his crockpot, but my bread rose up and pushed the lid off. Using parchment paper was the bees knees though, I got my from the Dollar Tree.

My kids bought me a bread maker with a timer. They found it at Goodwill for $5. I had tried crockpot bread and they made me promise not to make it again lol. Good luck on the emloyment switch. I gave up my career to go back to school. I have a bunch of individual clints but I am apprehensive about finding a 'real ' job again. But all in all I think its the best thing I ever did. I am sure you will too.

Aaaaahhh what a great Goodwill find! I think the employment switch is going to be a good one. I love to work, I love coming to the office, and I love business in general. My current office just drained everything positive from the experience and that's why I've been looking elsewhere. I don't envy those with there own business right now. I've had one and they are a lot of work. I look forward to having one again in a few years. Right now, I'm happy to take orders instead of making orders...well, I'll soon be placing orders but that's a different type of order :-P

I'm in awe of people that make bread. In a crockpot or breadmaker. I've tried it in the past and after one try I had no interest whatsoever in perfecting my recipe. I guess I'm 100% lazy. So good luck to you! But I wonder, how do you ladies resist eating the whole loaf after it's made? I can't resist fresh bred...I'm salivating just thinking about it.

OMG you crack me up! Your're not a 100% lazy if you tried it at some point in time. Some experiments, like the bread, I will do on a night where I've already had a good dinner and I have nothing else to do. Therefore, I'm full and bored. I like doing crafts too, so I guess I approached this like a craft. Prep for this project was pretty easy and it cleaned up quickly too. I can't wait to do it again!
