I'm frustrated. I've been strictly following the induction phase, drinking tons of water and haven't cheated once and only 4lb loss? It just doesn't make sense to me. What am I doing wrong? Am I eating too much or too many veggies? I don't know. I'm tall, so sometimes I justify eating enough for my height but maybe even still I need to eat smaller portions? I'll be starving lol! Or maybe I'm not eating enough? It seems like this diet works differently for each person and I guess I just haven't figured how I can get it to work on me?

Anyway, I would really like to have a couple of drinks tomorrow night. Will a couple of vodka and diet sodas or some wine kick me out of ketosis and sabotage the diet? not that the diet is working all that well haha... but jeez I don't know what to do. Is it worth taking the risk? All I wanna do is go out and have a couple drinks with my poor boyfriend who has been very supportive of my diet and my moodiness these past two weeks lol. I feel like I've been devoting soo much of myself to this diet with no substantial results.

Don't be discouraged - 4 pounds is quite an accomplishment!!! I did Atkins 20 years ago and lost weight with no problem. As I have gotten older, it is more difficult. Thanks to FatSecret, I realize that calories AND carbs matter. I know you're not tracking your RDI, but your daily calorie intake looks kinda low. I noticed for me that in order to lose weight, I need to consume 1700-1900 calories a day in addition to eating low carb foods. Everyone's body is different. You just gotta find what works for you. As for the drinks, I say "go ahead" and have a few zero carb choices (like Rum and Diet Coke, etc.) in moderation. All that happens is if you ARE in ketosis and have a few drinks, your body will switch and use the alcohol as energy before the fat. No biggie. :)

Thanks Cherylann! I'll try upping my calorie intake and see what happens. You made me feel better!! I'm looking forward to enjoying those couple of drinks without feeling guilty about it :)
