Deb_N's Journal, 06 September 2014

Some people log their breakfast, then they get busy and never log anything else for the rest of the day. Or they don't log their food at all. If you cannot log all your foods, I would suggest to do it in increments. If you struggle to reach your protein goal, then log your protein choices for each meal. If you eat too many carbs, log the carb foods. Sugars too high? Weigh and log the fruits. Just a thought. Good luck, everyone!

If the foods aren't on the list, you can add them, the form lets you type in all of the information from you food label, with the name of the product. Its on add food, at the bottom if its not on the list.

so if you type it in and it doesn't come up at the bottom it says add item.

This is what happens to me too, husband loves to shop at oriental grocers and picks the weirdest veggies all of which I have no idea how to cook..LOL Also find it hard to chart a sprinkle of sunflower seed, cranberries, roasted sesame seeds etc. when making salad and using them as toppers...it is not an easy task to measure them...I really do not think they can be measured. Tomorrow is weigh in day lets hope I have squeezed myself into the 160's..lol

Sometimes you can click FOODS at the top of the FatSecret page and type the name of the food in the search box. Other members who ate that food before have already written down the calories of the item.

Thanks Deb, will do some research on that..

Now that I told you to click on FOODS at the top, when I do that I am getting an error message. Not sure if FS is messed up right now or my computer needs to shut down and reboot. :/

Mine is showing error on FOODS also. Maybe FS needs downtime :)

Re-energize, I've decided to start taking a photo of the name of the veggie or whatever instead of trying to remember it. I always forget I can do that with my phone. That way I can research it a bit better when I get home.

I use to log foods but that is too time consuming and right now i know that i am following my diet quite diligently. I just record my weight and participate in community to keep me motivated and going.

I usually remember what I eat. Remembering other things like making calls I dread.

Deaby16, I'm not meaning remembering what I ate but the names of oriental veggies and other ingredients in ethnic stores. The labels aren't in English so it means looking info up later.
