I need to start getting more creative with my food. I can tell I have had it with chicken. Tuna seems mega salty to me.

For some strange reason I have 4 bags of steamfresh brussel sprouts in my freezer. I don't even really like brussel sprouts. lol Maybe I can find a recipe with them.

My basic philosophy on veggies (not the salad kind the other kind) is I hate them but I will eat them no problem if they are disguised.

I came from the "clean plate club" or "eat what we put on your plate, i don't care if you don't like it" society. Once I sat at the kitchen table with ONE lima bean on my plate until 11:30 PM because I refused to eat it.

I got sent to bed eventually. Kid - 1 Parents - 0 on that one. I really can't stand those little bundles of starch. Glad they have too many damn carbs.

**** entry 2 ****

I start my new job in 2 weeks. Right now is fantasy land because I am not working and I have no responsibilities besides taking care of myself.

My 21 year old daughter is home for 2 weeks which is nice.

My new job is going to be very very hard and the new learning curve will be stressful. It will take me about 45 minutes to drive there. I hate getting up early so I will have to deal with that. I am an expert at turning off alarms without even realizing it. I really should start practicing now for the whole routine.

I have ADD so routine is hard for me. I really suck at consistency and routine. It bores the hell out of me; my mind just rejects it. I have to write everything down or seriously I just space. It's a hard thing to live with but everyone has their "thing", right?

I cleaned out my closet and am taking a look at my work clothes. I took out all of the work clothes that don't fit and put them in a bin. The last time I wore those I was at about 270. My work clothes will increase 100% when I get down to that weight. It will be awesome!

When I lose weight I don't lose a lot of sizes. The last time I lost 60 lbs everyone said "boy you can really see it in your face". What was I, the koolaid man? Geesh....

Well I didn't lose much in the size department. I lose weight mostly in my face and legs. Some in the arms. Very little in the butt and stomach, which is why I have the "heart attack waiting to happen" apple shape.

I am supposed to have a doctor appointment on July 9 or something but I am going to change it to September because I want to walk in there less than 300. Also, I will be getting my A1C diabetes number and cholesterol and all that checked.

He made a comment that if my cholesterol didn't improve he would put me on a statin. Well, that's not happening. Not taking those things. I got 2 books: The 8 week cholesterol cure and The 8 week blood pressure cure. These books are great - talk about ways to change those numbers with supplements. I got every freakin supplement in the book.

I went to the doctor right before I started the supplements for the blood pressure. The doctor gave me an additional blood pressure med. I took the supplements instead. I went back after a month and my blood pressure was normal. I failed to mention that I didn't take the meds. My doctor isn't much for alternative medicine.

I'll tell him eventually. I know that as I lose weight my blood pressure will go down. Also, when I start up my walking routine again my blood pressure will go down.

When I start my new job I will be able to buy a pair of tennis shoes without holes in them. That will be a nice present!

Variety is the most important rule of all!!! if you only eat chicken, you are missing out on other nutritions like iron, and if you have bags full of brussel sprouts it sounds to me you where once planning on eating bags full of brussel sprouts... Btw brussels sprouts like all foods taste delicious when fried or sugar-coated (*lol*)

I like my Brussel Sprouts broiled in the oven. Slice in half, toss with olive oil, add salt & pepper, and cook under the broiler until lightly browned and the edges are crispy. Sometimes I add a spritz of balsamic vinegar I keep in a spray bottle. I use fresh sprouts though, so I'm not sure how frozen will come out. Congrats on the new job!

Tomato paste sauce with garlic and other spices covers up the taste of almost any veggie lol! I came from the "clean your plate" life too. Except so many times my dad would put this big hunk of fat on my plate because he knew I hated it. I have sat at the table through most of the night with That on my plate. Finally slid it into my pocket when dear old dad dozed off and said I said I ate it. Yeah, it was a lie but I got to go to bed. Compared to that just about any food is better!!

I do the same thing with broccoli. I've been hearing left right and center how broccoli is good for you, but I don't like it unless it's swimming in cheese. I just stopped buying it. I had to get real with myself about broccoli!! lol I eat a lot of salads. I actually still enjoy them and could and do eat them everyday, I'm just so fed up of the preparation..
