DUBAIKK's Journal, 24 May 2014

Yesterday was an important day and when I weighed in I hit 130 Kgs and was very very happy as it was for the first time in the last 8 years that I have seen that number on my weigh scale !!!

So as a reward I indulged into my weakness of Rice, lentils and curd for my lunch and dinner had multi-grained chapathi and lentil sprouts. Total carbs hit the roof a staggering 178g.

Today early morning my weighing scale showed an increase of almost a kilo !!!
So as you can see carbs are the reason, so I am back into my low carbs from today and no more rewarding crap henceforth.

Thank you for reminding us not to use food in celebrating a nice weight loss! We need to think about a reward that will burn calories (like a walk in the park) or shopping (new clothes that are smaller, book, key chain, wallet, etc).

Lentils are extremely healthy. The weight you saw was mostly water. Low carb (protein) pushes water out of our cells and when we eat higher carb foods, the cells take the water back in. Healthy carbs are important for brain function and energy and when you get to goal, you can add them back in with moderation. And you are right, rewarding weight loss with food probably isn't the best idea. You are doing great, so just keep going!
