WELL TODAY IT IS RAINING HERE IN CENTRAL PA. I WENT TO CURVE'S AND GOT A GOOD WORKOUT IN AND DID THREE ROUNDS ON THE MACHINES. CAME HOME AND MADE CHICKEN BREAST UP SO THAT I CAN HAVE THAT IN MY SALADS BECAUSE IT COST SO MUCH TO BUY IT ALREADY COOKED UP. I SEPARATED IT INTO 4 BAGS CAUSE I HAVE A FOODSAVER MACHINE AND I LOVE IT. I WON'T BE HAVING ALL MY STEPS IN TODAY SINCE IT IS RAINING BUT I SWEATED LIKE CRAZY AT CURVE'S.

Good job at Curves! Cooking your own chicken like that has more benefits than just saving money. The store bought precooked chicken has added salt & probably chemicals that you don't want. By doing it yourself you'll have healthier chicken. I've got a Food Saver and love mine too.

So Smart to buy/cook and save your own chicken breast. I do the same thing. I always try to have a chicken breast or 2 cooked and ready in the fridge for a quick salad topper for lunch or supper! That is my idea of fast food!

I cook in larger quantities and stick it in the freezer. Turkey patties and chicken breast but I want to try freezing salmon patties, too.

You're doing so well! And I agree- it is so much more expensive to buy chicken pre-cooked. I like buying the raw frozen chicken breast. You get much more than pre-cooked. :) Anyway keep up what you're doing sunshine!

Thanks everybody, I am trying to get things back on track. I can't wait to see where my weight is tomorrow when I see my primary doctor since I weighed 423 lbs the last time I seen him at the end of February.

Good luck tomorrow at your weigh in! Great idea with the chicken breast. My husband BBQs a value pack of chicken breast about every two weeks and both of us eat them in salads, etc. I get pretty sick of it sometimes, but it is such a lean protein and I like it cold, so that makes it easy for lunches-to-go.

That is what I did. I bought a value pack of 4 lbs and cooked the whole thing up.

I got pretty sick of chicken on salads too so I replace the chicken with cooked Quinoa. I find it keeps me feeling just as full and just as long! I make 2 different salads for the week and I find using raw kale and raw brussel sprouts (shredded) is great because I can lightly dress them and the longer they sit in the fridge the better they get. My family favorite is a salad with black lentils, shredded brussel sprouts, shredded raw butternut squash (I use a mandolin for that), golden raisins or other dried fruit, and some chopped nuts or almond slivers. I dress it with lemon, garlic, olive oil. Mmm!
