Holding the 210. I am 11 lbs away from onederland. That will be an amazing achievement once I get there - I have not weighed under 200 since I was pregnant in 1999 with my first child. I have noticed that the fat on my thighs has decreased. This happened so slowly and quietly that I only just noticed. That was the same way it came on ..... one day it seemed to be there and I never saw it creeping up. I guess I wasn't paying attention. It's ironic that in order to get rid of that fat that crept in and grew in my body while I was not paying attention, I actually have to be almost obsessively engaged with what I eat, count my calories, watch my carbs, sleep well and ensure I have a calorie deficit in order to lose weight. I have to be consistent to see results and to be consistent I have to be engaged i.e be mindful. It's that simple and that complex. This is no different for anything in life that you want to do well. To become an expert at anything or even if you just want to do something really well (sports, work, parenting, etc) you have to pay attention, use your key learnings from that to improve and be consistent. It's not always easy because just living and experiencing life creates a lot of dissonance everyday - some positive and some negative. It's up to us to figure out what we will do each day to keep that balance and focus that will give us the results we want. It's something I call finding your "ish" i.e. finding that unique formula that will work for each of us. There is no recipe book for your life (but there are so many ingredients that we can choose to incorporate )....... in fact we develop our personal recipe book for our life by how we live and the choices we make everyday. What I have learned so far is that I need to be mindful in my pursuits so that I am able to take the steps that are necessary to get the results I want.
