I know- wtf- 40+ years of diet rules is a hard habit to break. Feed me!!!! And write back, dude. You are a terrible penpal. I have the need for immediate responses.

I love this post so much! the diet that I was on before wanted me to be on a 1200calorie limit a day, without paying respect to balance. that limit was too low for what I burn everyday! I still eat my heart out on veggies and my fav Buffalo dip, Ben and jerrys. and other noms, but now I get a better idea and feeling of balance and feeling better about myself! glad I'm not alone :)

DP I can totally relate. Once my weight stopped dropping around 185 I also began to do the “tuna pouches” and other low low cal foods like celery sticks with jalapeño mustard. 🤦♀️ Typically around day 3-4 I was miserable and hungry. 😩 I’ve accepted that with my current body and with the extra skin (legs, back, thighs) my ideal weight may be just around 180. Mentally I want to be under 175 but I refuse to obsess, nope not going back to that. I eat, I eat well. I eat foods that nourish me and I find tasty just within my budget. It’s hard 😭 Especially now that I’m pretty much immobile... But imma do what I gotta do...
I think you are doing great, keep lifting and body comping; you are strong AF, sexy as hell. You got this and will forever weigh less than your hubby...

Thanks for your ingenuity, DP! Restrictive eating is the worst I can do for my self. After a couple of days, I revolt and eat any greasy snack or carb-loaded stuff I can find at home! I know I'm no role model, I am not making any progress, but I look good enough in my very-own opinion, and I'm maintaining, which is difficult on its own... All this just to tell you that I feel you, friend!

Welcome back to the land of the living! It’s weird how we learn what works but still slide into unsustainable actions. Human nature to create change I guess.

I rarely look at people’s food logs. All I can say is I’m glad you came to your senses. Enjoy that bacon and pancakes! ❤️☕️

Great revelation DP...that's why for me too logging EVERYTHING works....there is no bad stuff, just different calorie densities, macro percentages and personal satisfaction that need to be balanced throughout the weeks, months and years. Hope you see a nice trend line going forward!!

Food should satisfy hunger not leave you wanting. Eat the bacon - dump the pancakes. Carbs will make you hungry for more. Keto!

Keto sucks- sorry Jason... I can't restrict carbs...Kudos to anyone who can or would want to. The whole point of the post is to not do that. 🧁💗

Thanks for sharing. My high carb low fat experiment was a failure, because eating what I wanted (in moderation), the fat still tends to be higher than it should be for a moderately low fat diet. The "rules" were creeping in again and making me feel like I'd failed even though I've lost weight thanks to the deficit. I'll still experiment but try not to let them become rules.

One last thing, they don’t get my kudos. I can’t support such insanity. Now where’s the pancakes????? Oh, you ate them. Great job, or is that great food? 😂

I've tried soooo many different diets and pills and stupid crap to lose weight. And while they worked initially it's not sustainable or even something that I wanted to do long term. The thing that has helped me lose weight is counting calories. When people ask me what I eat I tell them everything, they think I eat a very restrictive diet. I eat everything I just count calories. I eat carbs, I eat sugar, I eat salty snacks. I just try to make sure I stay with in my calories... except on Fridays when calories don't count 😂😂😂
