JennBuck61's Journal, 19 November 2013

I have a day off and I plan to do some housework. I have been mulling over the idea of how often to weigh and I have been reading many different opinions on this topic as well. So, what I decided to do is adopt a daily weigh-in for a time.

Why would I do this .. especially when it seems to contradict my idea of being a slave to the scale? Well, one of the opinions I read on the Internet related to low carb eating, really resonated with me. Basically, as I am still transitioning into this "keto" lifestyle, I am not sure what foods (on the allowed list), I will be sensitive to. It appears even though some foods are Ok in general, on an individual level I could have an unexpected reaction to it and it may affect my weightloss/ Ketosis. Weighing every day will go along with my food diary so that it will give me some insight on the effects of the food I am eating on my body / weightloss. It will give me clues about the foods to reduce or eliminate. I thought it was an interesting enough concept to try for a while, so I am going to try it and see what I learn over the next 4 months. That said, I know I won't be able to weigh while I am on that two week business trip in Switzerland. However, I will weigh daily until I leave for the trip and resume (OMG - that should be interesting) when I get back. I am not quite ready for the emotional onslaught of the gain/loss game, but I am so ready to learn more about me and Low Carb and what is going to work best as I adopt this way of living. ROAR!!!
