I took an antidepressant when i was 15 for a month or 2 but it made worse so my dad took me off cold turkey. I was dizzy non stop, black visions when i stood up.

Hugs Peeper. That is so difficult. I hope it's not as bad as you fear.

Loseweight that’s what I’m afraid of. BUT the meds themselves can cause that so perhaps it won’t be so bad. Thanks guys. I too hope it won’t be that bad. However they originally told me I’d have to go to an in house place if I wanted off these meds. His nurse/PA didn’t mention anything about it and said this would help. We will see I guess. Anxiety just on high alert.

I take Buspar right now. 4x a day! Today I had half dose of Vraylar with my new antidepressant and had less anxiety than usual! Of course I was constantly busy from 11-3 then 5-9:15 which helped I’m sure lol.

Wish you the best. I just stopped pain meds. Not fun. Stick with it!! It gets better whatever med you are on.

Buspar is more on the mild side. But makes people very sleepy. Have you ever been prescribed Ativan or Xanax?

Nope. I have Klonopin which is a benzo like those two but mild. It’s for anxiety attacks. My counselor said Xanax but my dr said no way. Seems it unpairs cognitive ability after age 40. 50/50 chance and I’m 38. She was dead set against using it daily since I’ve already had cancer, chemo brain and menopause. My thinking is already slow and I have difficulty with memory. She said it’ll be a last resort for me.

Be careful with Benzos. I just tapered off from Xanax. Xanax (or any benzo) worked great until I needed more and more. Not fun to stop taking them and eventually you need to stop them. They are miracle drugs that work great but eventually turn evil when you need to stop.

You’re doctor is very thorough with all your diagnoses ♥️ I take a 0.5 mg Xanax every morning and can have another during the day as needed, but I find taking the one in the morning, I rarely need the second one.

@60 thanks! @kerry thanks. That’s what I’ve heard. My aunt is on something like it and I’ve heard she’s had a rough time but haven’t gotten up the nerve to ask exactly what she was on and what happened. I heard from another uncle who wasn’t supposed to say anything.

@JC glad it’s working for you! My knopopin works wonders the two times I’ve used it. It’s a milder benzodiazepine. My psychiatrist gave it to me but his nurse or whatever that took over doesn’t want me taking it unless absolutely necessary. It took both of them plus my counselor and a psychologist to diagnose me and work on getting the right meds lol. I don’t stop until I’m sure. I don’t care how many drs it takes working together.
