Hellllllllllooooooooooo people of all shapes and sizes, peter here!, i don't post very much but trust me i read a lot, well today i'm sitting back (sipping on an ice cold CARB free beer) and decided to let people know a little about me, well here goes (some may or may not relate, if you do it's all up from here for you i promise), from the age of 13 iv'e smoked every day and never tried to stop, from the age of 15 i pretty much drank alcohol every day, (no tisc tisc please haha), at my absolute fittest at 17 i was 103 kgs, so in 30 years i went from smoking and drinking to being a full blown alcoholic drinking at least 20 beers a day (in a day i mean from 4pm till 9pm so in 5 hrs easy 20 beers 1/2 bottle of rum) this is no lie at age 37 suffered anxiety and depression at the point of no return after a home invasion that destroyed me and kept me on its chain never letting go yep that was 7 years of hell, at age 46 and now 156.9 kgs decided to do some swimming at the local beach pool at 5am (not too many people around then) i walked / swam 20 laps of a 50 mtr pool every day 7 days a week took me 3 months to do this mind you before i got the courage to get out of the car and actually do it, but as days passed weeks went you became part of the morning and the people you meet started saying hello and got to meet some sweet sweet people. (all doing the same thing), after 3 months doing this i went from 156.9 kgs to 149.4 kgs not much but hey it's something,(still drinking and smoking so there is merit to exercise) then winter came along and stuffed that up it was too cold to swim so started hitting the gym, my anxiety started to reduce a bit by now but depression remained, when i started gym panic attacks a plenty but remained focused on what i started, cut it from here a bit, im now 47 still drinking (no spirits anymore just beer and still smoking) devoted 7 mornings a week to the gym and now as of today am 134 kgs thats 22 odd kgs lighter depression has stopped (mostly) anxiety is at bay, panic attacks very rare now and im now drinking on average 8 beers a day (still smoking tho) people now comment daily on geez mate what happened to rest of you?, you sick or something?, i just laugh it off a bit because the struggle i'm in is hard, "REALLY HARD", this is just a very small portion of my life but mostly the positive stuff, so it's no cry or anything but if you feel your beat, "beat it back" my body has changed in some amazing ways and i am blessed for that, but the point i am making is dont give up on your old daily habits until you feel you can, too much at once is a disaster waiting to happen if you run a muck like i do let it, taken 6 months but i am now losing good weight and alcohol is releasing its grip and smoking is slowly cutting down, some may see this as a cry for help, others may say im weak but this is my story and i hope you respect it i am over the moon on my progress and this is just a story iv'e wanted to tell to others that may be suffering in silence............ thanks all for reading !, feel free to do correct punctuation for me as i'm not really that good at punctuation, but hey, i'm giving it a go, cheers and thankyou all, warmest of wishes, Pete Jewell (Sydney Australia)
