Hey FS Warriors
Still hanging in there. My weight is about back to where it was before surgery. Round two of chemo has been a bit more challenging but nothing I can't handle.
I got peripheral neuropathy immediately this round, My hands started tingling during the chemo session and touching cold things is not a pleasant experience. It also affected my mouth this time, my daughter brought home a box of drumsticks the day of chemo for me. I took a bite of the ice cream and it was like I had had a mouthful of broken glass. Luckily, it was only bad for a few days and I can eat, drink and mostly touch cold things again.
I am tired a lot and I sleep so much my cats have made me a member of their pride, so I have that going for me. Trying to stay as active as I can between naps but still not as active as I want to be.
Keep Grinding!

Still about five pounds below my normal pre surgery weight, but getting there.
Somehow I manged to pull a muscle in my abdomen on Tuesday, which is the only day in the past week I took it easy. I went to the emergency room because Dr was worried that something may have ruptured in my intestines but lucky for me its just intense muscle pull pain. So now I'm rocking the sweet aroma of Icy Hot patches and hoping not to cough, sneeze or laugh.

Hey FS Warriors,
Day 3 after round one of chemo and I'm doing alright. I've had a few side effects my hands have been sort of numb and on Friday and Saturday I had to wear gloves if I touched anything cold because it hurt if I didn't.
Trying to get life back to as normal as possible so I went to the gym Saturday and did a 15 minute treadmill walk. Yesterday I rested most of the afternoon then went up to DC and had a nice dinner and watched the last Capitals regular season hockey game. I had already bought the tickets before I was diagnosed and I felt up for it and made it through. I did not walk laps around the arena in between periods this time though, well not both periods anyways.
I am cleared to resume all activity at the end of this week so I am looking forward to not being as useless at home. Doing what I can but still not enough. Strangely enough, standing seems to drain me faster than walking. So doing dishes or cooking wear me out faster than sweeping or vacuuming.
On the eating front, my appetite hasn't really been affected yet. I still get hungry and am eating normal sized meals. I do have to add in between meal snacks as I start losing energy fast if I don't keep up on it. My weight is coming back up slowly and I'm around 147ish now so still 10 below my pre-surgery weight.

Hey FS Warriors
First chemotherapy complete (kinda) and so far so good. Not nearly as horrible as I was expecting. The central port made everything easy, they drew two vials of blood instantly then gave me two anti nausea meds and a steroid incase I had any allergic reations.
After that I received two different chemo meds that I had to sit though at the clinic and when they were done they hooked me up to a third that I get to carry around with me for 2 days. Luckily for me they also gave me this seriously hawt fanny pack to carry it around in.
Keep grinding!!

Hey FS Warriors,
I guess it's been awhile since my last update. I had a minor setback and developed a fluid pocket in my lower abdomen/ pelvic area. I was supposed to have it drained this Tuesday when the inserted my Chemo port. Fortunately the antibiotics are working well on it and they decided against the drain.
I stopped the weight loss finally this week, I had dropped 16 pounds from my pre surgery weight that I really didn't need to lose. I tried to offset it by gaining 5 pounds before the surgery but that wasn't enough.
So that's two positives this week. Once the fluid is gone I hope to start walking again with a goal of being able to brisk walk or slow jog though Chemotherapy to help keep my energy levels up.
Speaking of Chemo, I get my first round next Wednesday and though I am nervous I am also ready to get started so I can get to the finish line sooner.
Keep Grinding FS Warriors
