Hey FS Warriors
We did it! We are on the last round of chemo and Friday we will be done. Like every Chemo Wednesday I am tired but since this started I'm always tired. I have to wait until the 27th to get a PET scan that hopefully shows there is no cancer anywhere else. It should as my blood work has consistently shown no signs of me progressing to Stage 4.
I want to thank you all for the tremendous love, prayers and support you have given me during my battle. The finish line is only a few steps away and I don't know I would have made it without you guys lifting me up and keeping motivated with your individual stories. You've often called me inspiring in my battle but I was inspired by so many of you at the same time.
Sunday and Tuesday I was able to complete 30 minute jogs, Sunday at the better half's pace for 25 minutes and Tuesday at a faster pace and completed 2.6 miles and with my warm up and cool down walks I hit 5k (3.1 miles). Slower than last year as I was running a 5K at around 30 minutes but not bad for 51 year old man on chemo with a hernia.
Today's picture is with my Chemo nurses. My name isn't Charlie but I was lucky enough to have these two angels get me through chemo treatments. Good nurses make all the difference between a good experience and a bad one and Jess and Kristen were wonderful throughout. Good patients also make a difference; attitude matters.
I brought them flowers, chocolates and the ingredients for each of their favorite drinks so they can celebrate the end of chemo with me. I thanked them both and told them I hope I never see either one of you again in a professional setting.

Hey FS Warriors
I just noticed I have neglected updating my weight all month. I've done a good job of fighting the steroids this month and even with a weekend trip back home to Ohio this past weekend which included a dinner of ballpark food and beer I've managed to maintain fairly well.
Chemo is doing well this round and I was able to make the trip and not completely wear myself out. Last round is next week and I'm definitely looking forward to being finished with it. My jogging program is going well still trying to adjust my pace to go slower (it's not easy when you are already very slow LOL).

Hey FS Warriors,
I have Wilson connected now and the penultimate Chemo treatment is in progress. Didn't sleep well again last night and the sky has been threatening all day so I'm postponing my run until tomorrow. I did complete my 25 minute jog Monday so my stamina is returning.
Blood work is still looking good and I have my PET Scan scheduled for the end of September which should be the final step in this journey then on to fix the hernia, whom I've named Nigel.

Hey FS Warriors
Feeling pretty good today which can only mean that I about due for the next chemo round :). I was able to complete all 3 of my run/walks last week including a 22 minute jog Friday. This week calls for 3 25 minute jogs so wish me luck.
Hope you all enjoy the eclipse today but remember to not buy any strange and interesting plants today.
Keep Grinding
