Hey FS Warriors,
Been a busy past few weeks between taking a mini vacation last weekend, school semester ending yesterday and pet tragedies.
Back in August we noticed my 15 year old kitty Pumpkin was losing weight and took him to the vets. All the test came back negative so we didn't think to much about it. We got back from South Carolina last Tuesday and on Wednesday he started not eating, which is definitely not Pumpkin like behavior, and started just staying under the bed all the time so we made an appointment for Friday. On Thursday one of our 2 year old cats Han, was straining and unable to pee; we have lost a kitty to this before so we rushed him to the vet and he needed emergency surgery to unblock his bladder and fortunately he is doing great now.
Friday at Pumpkin's appointment everything came back normal so the vet felt it was cancer since he had dropped from 14 pounds to 10 in two months. After hydrating him and failing to get him to eat all week even after steroids we had to put him to sleep today and stop his suffering. It's not often I'm not upbeat and positive but today I am just devastated as he was my constant companion the past decade and a half, sleeping with me every night and helping eat any tuna fish in the house.
Tomorrow I go to in for my hernia surgery so I won't be able to workout the next 4-6 weeks. I plan on just doing some light walking during the recovery period.
The picture is from back in May with Pumpkin and me with Han photo bombing us.

Hey FS Warriors,
Scan results are in and I am happy to report that I am officially cancer free!
I want to thank all of you for helping me get through this. Your words of encouragement and prayers meant more to me than you will ever know.
Now all I have left is my hernia which is scheduled for repair on the 17th. Unfortunately, doc said he couldn't insert a six pack mold in my abs so crunches will still have to be done.

Finished a full 5k for the first time since my surgery in March so feeling pretty happy with myself now. Took me 35 minutes which is about 6 minutes slower than I was at before the diagnosis but I'll take it. Not sure if I'm smiling in the picture or gasping for breath.

Hey FS Warriors
Sorry I have not been around very much lately; the last round has been the roughest one since round 4. Additionally, some of you may recall that last spring after finding out I would put on chemo I had to drop the college classes I was taking at that time. Well for the past four weeks I've been a student again and it has taken a lot of my free time away.
Unfortunately chemo brain is a real thing and has made this the most difficult learning experience in my life. I have always been able to process and retain anything I read instantly but I struggle to retain even a sentence at a time. I'm getting through and getting good grades but I have to work harder than I ever had to in my life.
Health wise I'm maintaining my weight between 158 and 162 a little higher than I like but the steroid struggle is real. Still jogging 3 times a week, I finished the couch25k program again and am just free running now between 20-30 minutes each time. The hernia binder make breathing rough sometimes especially when its humid.
