So my numbers from my blood test weren't too bad, happy about that. My Dr. was excited about me quitting smoking and that I was losing weight, but she wasn't too thrilled about my drastic change in diet. She felt like I was taking on too much at once by giving up all processed foods, meat and dairy and told me she thought I wouldn't be able to sustain it and I might end up burning myself out. When she said that a little light bulb went off in my head because I promised myself I would keep some balance this time around, because going to extremes is always my downfall. It's funny how I never realize I'm doing it! So, after thinking about it, I have decided that I would start over. I am planning on staying away from processed foods (except condiments)because I really don't have time to make those myself, but I will continue to eat lean meats and dairy. I just need to concentrate on whole foods and portion sizes. So, here I go again!

FASTING! well, I'm trying to be excited about it, but frankly, it's tough. I have a health assesment tomorrow with blood draw, so only water. For most people this isn't difficult because they are asleep; sadly for me, I work nights, so being up all night at work and all morning with no food or coffee or tea is very hard. Still, I can do it. On another note, it's been a whole week since I quit smoking, and so far so good. I feel a thousand times better, even if I miss it. Hopefully, the hubby will quit soon, that is what makes it the hardest. I sometimes wonder if I self-sabotage...trying to eat healthy, and quit smoking at the same time is ROUGH, but, since it's a lifestyle change and not a diet, the two seem to go hand in hand. Hope everyone is doing well!

Feeling pretty good today. I went to the gym and worked out in my Z2 training zone for 40 minutes. It was hard though, it feels counter-intuitive to slow down when I feel like I could go faster, but apparently staying under that 140 bpm is what will actually help me burn more fat. That being said, I am so out of shape that I had to rotate running for about 2 minutes and then walking for 1 just to keep it at 138. Hopefully I will see some imporvement soon. I also made a delicious vegan whole wheat pasta dish tonight. It was both healthy and yummy, and I had forgetten how much better I feel when I'm eating a clean diet. I was vegan for about 5 years and always felt great, but when I got married I let my husband convince me to start eating meat and dairy again, and well, 30+ pounds later after being sick and overweight for a while I have decided to stick to my guns and go back to a plant based whole foods diet. Luckily, he's on board this time!

Yay! Good loss even though I had that one horrible day. I really couldn't believe it considering I apparently ate like 4,000 calories at applebees. Still, I stuck to it for the rest of the week and it paid off. Love breaking into a new 10 digit number, makes me feel like each ten pounds is a little mini goal and that doesn't seem so daunting. Hope everyone else had a good week, and here's hoping I can keep it up over the weekend.
Weigh-in:

I'm confused. I know this might sound a little OCD, but it is really bugging me. I bought a container of hummus yesterday and the label says a serving is 2 TBSP and that the container has 8 servings. I had some last night and diligently got out my tablespoon and measured out 2 TBSP Today I did the same and then I looked in the container and realized there isn't even enough left for 2 more servings, never mind 6! Have I been measuring wrong? Are there really only 3-4 servings? I will admit that my TBSPS may have been a bit rounded, but NOT THAT MUCH! It just annoys me because I realize I must have been eating more than I thought. Tomorrow I will make sure to scrape the top of my measuring spoon so there is no question.
