I'm almost 70, and since my thyroid quit working 12 years ago, I'm massively overweight. I have to fight to take off every 1/4 pound! Add that to sciatica and severe arthritis making even walking difficult some days, this is a real struggle.
Last month I was diagnosed with Type II Diabetes. I have cut out sugar entirely, and recently discovered I need to cut back carbs too, in order for my sugar to go down (I really should have known that!)
Despite tremendous effort, I've lost less than 6 pounds. I couldn't be more discouraged, but I'm going to fight on. Losing weight will help with my sciatica, COPD, GERD - and of course, diabetes.
