Christmas parties - too many!! I've avoided most really bad food and am keeping weight steady but not losing any!! Been doing a few bike rides but also too much vino and stuff. Will have to concentrate on a few weeks diet in the New Year I guess... Stop drinking at all for a few weeks to lose weight and cycle lots combined with a high protein and veggie diet. Perhaps focus the thoughts on that in the New Year as a resolution: try 2 weeks of strict diet in January maybe. Then 2 weeks more in February.

The ride yesterday was massive... the sun got very hot. I recorded it as a 4 hour ride but actually it was a bit longer. I really made an effort NOT to have any junk food afterwards despite the fact that I was RAVISHING hungry. I had an unsweetened berry smoothie times 2 and a whole small chicken for dinner... weakness was that I drank wine. Was well ahead though and felt rested this morning.

I have about a kilo of 'winter fat' which I would like to lose. I am extremely fit and do not feel that all of my extra weight is fat by any means... indeed I have been cycling a lot (250 km last week) and doing some very energetic yoga. This week I am a volunteer guide on Montague island so although I won't be bike riding I will be walking around a lot. The weather is going to be pretty bad in the next few days which will mean only a few tours but I do intend to do my yoga on most days and watch my diet. i have brought only lean meat and veggies and fresh fruit with me... the only carbs I have with me are a few slices of sourdough bread and the usual whole oats for breakfast. I feel that my system is still revving a bit after cycling for 4 consequtive days last week and then doing active yoga yesterday and a 35 km bike ride the day before. I haven't exactly been lying around in the last few weeks.
