... feeling some regrets today for indulging in Tim Horton's pastry last night. It wasn't all that tasty, and it surely was not worth the .4# ⬆️ on the scale this morning. Vegetarian snack (technically yes), good choice (not so much)! 😕

For me, I've come to believe that changes of season have a big effect on mood and that can make me vulnerable to all kinds of stress. It is part of accepting who I am, with both blessings and challenges. This awareness somehow settles me down so that I can nurture myself a little bit in less harmful ways. Food is, and probably always will be a challenge. I know that, so I make some gentle compromises sometimes, reminding myself that "this too shall pass." I am learning that my own stubbornness is the villain here. For example: I eat vegetarian with the desire to morph into a more vegan lifestyle. My motivation is to avoid a third recurrence of breast cancer (or worse). So I am, in the grand scheme of things, a "pre-school" vegetarian: just a few months into it. I did not get why many veggie people don't eat or cook with fat. In fact I actually didn't believe that you can actually "sauté " without fat. So, what the heck, I tried it. (Looked up a demo on the net). It was great! So grudgingly I stopped eating "added fat." Almost miraculously my weight started to drop! So stubbornness appears to be fattening 😁, and now without fat, I am gently losing pounds - season change and all.

When I came back from vacation, I just stopped eating fat, and since I haven't gone to the store, hardly any dairy - suddenly - the scale stopped sticking at the same old weight.
