Did really well for a little while, but too many fruits I think...and juices...and carbs...so really, really struggling with this. Then we went to Yakima for the tournament, and just blew it all there. So, up a few. As of today I am back to the fasting, and right now I am at 17 hours. Feeling pretty good, mostly, and wanting to push it out to 20 hours today. That puts my meal around 4:30 or so...maybe later. Thinking this fasting 2-3x a week is a really good plan for me, just seems like I have more control.

So my choices aren’t perfect, but they’re good. I am loving the IF “skip a meal” thing. I feel energy and wellness when I don’t eat breakfast, but only after a high protein dinner. Snacking is harder once I get home, but I still don’t come even close to the junk, carbs, and calories that I was getting before. My weight-loss is happening, although it seems slow it’s really not. I know that one of these days I am going to have to have a planned cheat day, but I am afraid that I will lose the control I am experiencing now. Every loss gets me closer to goal and more hopeful of reaching my long-term goal. I haven’t been riding, though, and that’s pretty important to my barrel racing goal. My weight loss goal #1 is only 5 pounds away, need to get to 220. Then I can focus on weight loss goal @#2 of 210.

This weekend was pretty successful, started out Saturday morning with big plans for a nice morning and a couple of soccer games. I wasn't even hungry for breakfast, so I skipped it. Chose an Iced Mocha (fullfat) despite the sugar, then had one more at the soccer game, and a rice-krispy treat, and after that Pryors fish for dinner...nothing really healthy Saturday at all, but I had skipped breakfast and also didn't eat too much of the bad stuff, so held steady on Sunday morning...but Sunday, 2 pieces of bacon for breakfast, then a small half of a pb&j sandwich for lunch, and nothing until dinner and that was a fantastic steak and salad...at least something healthy! Throughout it all, there was always coffee. Love my coffee...and today, 2 pounds lighter for it. My first goal is going to be 220. I have decided I don't have 1 goal, I have 10 goals. 234 down to 220 will be goal 1 accomplished. Only 6 more to go!

Ok, I did it, 1 day of IF and my fast was from 8 pm to 11:30 AM...so about 15.5 hours. It was much easier than expected, although I did get lots of rumbling around 10. Nothing hurt, I drank my coffee, so no headaches, no pains, nothing bad. I actually enjoyed the control. My lunch was a great steak and salad with lots of veggies, which was fantastic. I stopped as soon as I was full. Then, I had a few walnuts...the rest of the day was hit & miss but mostly good choices, and there were relatively few cheats. Today I will do the same but be sure to fill up on fruits and veggies and meat after 11:30 for a longer period of time so I don't get the late night urges. Skipping breakfast is probably the easiest IF I have ever heard of!

I've been half-heartedly dragging along with the Primal thing, or maybe whole-heartedly doing it but not to the extent of weight loss. That's ok- I am primal, and I feel amazing because of it, but I really am ready to jump into the serious stuff so that I can move from feeling good to losing weight. I've been enjoying my food tremendously, lots of walnuts, bacon, steak, salads with lots of veggies, and occasionaly frozen yogurt. Lots less sugar and almost no wheat compared to before PB. I've been holding steady, but not really losing like I know I could with this diet. I have been kicking around the idea of IF for a few days and I think today is the day. Morning 1 of IF, technically started at 7:30 last night, and aiming for after 7 tonight. I started with a beautiful and delicious steak for dinner last night to help me get going. Coffee is OK and even encouraged, so I think this is made for me!! I am hoping this kicks me into fat-burning-keto-adapted-beast territory. Mark asks for 16-18 hours but 24 might be better. Shooting for 24, if I hit 18 then that's fine. So far, I am at 12. SFSG. Updates tomorrow...
