I went to my doctor on 3/8/23 and while she was happy that my blood pressure was good, recent test results indicated that my cholesterol was dangerously high and she prescribed medication. She informed that given my family history, high blood pressure, sleep apnea, high cholesterol and obesity I stood a 1 in 5 chance of having a heart attack. She then recommended bariatric surgery. Because of my weight and height my BMI is 50 which is considered morbidly obese. All this rocked my world.
Deut 30:19 “Today I have given you the choice between life and death, between blessings and curses. Now I call on heaven and earth to witness the choice you make. Oh, that you would choose life, so that you and your descendants might live!
Today I am choosing life. I have spoken to the surgeon and have enrolled in the nutritional program that I must complete. I have started my high protein low carb meal plan and I will exercise daily for 30 minutes a day even if I have to be active 10 minutes at a time. The choice is clear. Pray with me and thsnk you in advance for all of your support.

I am gaining weight while making better food choices and lowering my blood pressure.
I refuse to be on a diet. I had a bit of ice cream and some honey roasted cashews and have gained almost three pounds. I feel so defeated. I can't give up. I am scared.

Gained a pound this week after working so hard to not give in to my cravings and emotions. I have no choice but to continue on.

The scale often does not depict the amount of effort it takes for me to choose a healthier lifestyle. I feel like it took 100 pounds of effort to lose these two pounds. I am off to make low sodium breakfast sausage and curry chicken for the week. I hope for all of us.
