surprised by my calorie allowance
Hello Everyone!
I joined a couple of years ago but have gotten really serious over the last half of 2014.
My goal for this year is to continue losing toward my goal weight and most importantly - maintain that weight within a very small window - 3#. In concert with that is being active every day. Not getting sucked into the net and sitting in front of the screen for hours but Moving. I have always had a hard time doing that during the winter but now I'm member at our local gym so - a reason to leave the house. Another goal is to keep up with my annual medical check ups and exams. We lost some people in the past year and nearly lost others - really shook me up and made me realize, "This is my choice, my life - do I want to live it happy and healthy or miserable by increments?" I'm going to fight the decline I've seen around me.
Maintaining is the hardest but my very wise and healty MIL who is 78 and easily looks 10 years younger was chit chatting with me and said, "You just have to realize that you cant take your eye off the ball. We are 'women of a certain age' my Dear" She said that with a lot of love and empathy in her eyes and she's right IMO - This is why I've set a weight range to stick to. outside of my range, bells are going off and then followed sirens... and up my activity / eat very low cal diet until back in range. This requires me to step onto the scales every.day. - something many women are against because they beat themselves up if the number isnt what they want. I've had a personal reset in regard to that. I view the scale as a tool - not and enemy or something that makes me feel less. (no pun intended!)
Have a great day folks and may we all have a happy, healthy and prosperous 2015!
