I realized something today. While it's technically true that it is easier to gain fat than to burn fat, it is not realistically true. Most people don't eat enough of foods that produce fat for the technical truth to be an insurmountable reality. Here's what I mean. I moved to Tampa in 2009 and at that time I weighed 185. By the time I was in Tampa for six years my weight had gone as high as 234 pounds. The total gain was 49lbs, for the sake of rounding I'm going to say 50lbs. Basically, I gained 8lbs a year. However, after eating clean, counting macros, and doing weight training, I lost nearly 8lbs in three weeks. Most people don't eat enough to make the time/weight loss ratio so negative that it feels hopeless. If a person were to gain 5lbs a week I think then the technical truth (that it is easier to gain fat than losing it) would be extremely disappointing but the realistic truth is few people eat enough to gain 5lbs a week. So be encouraged in your weight loss efforts.
