Weight History

Start Weight
130.5 lb
Lost so far: 1.8 lb

Current Weight
128.7 lb
Performance: gaining 0.6 lb a week

Goal Weight
119.0 lb
Still to go: 9.7 lb
I've always been relatively physically active and diet conscious (this doesn't mean i always ate healthily, just that i knew when i wasnt! :) )but in the last two years since meeting my (now) husband, the weight has slowly crept on. I don't have much to lose but if i don't nip it in the bud now, maybe i won't until it's too late.

Low tolerance for bs
Actually i find i make some of my friends uncomfortable sometimes like when we go for lunch and i order a salad or diet coke or plain naan instead of whatever full fat version they're having.

The only time i get irritated is when my friends decide they want to lose weight then tag along to the gym and end up making me their personal trainer while i'm trying to do my workout. That does kinda bug me. Especially when they will then not take any of the asked for suggestions and insist on doing about 60 sit-ups.

Also, I find that new workout clothes are the gift that keeps giving. Even if I'm not ready to move down a size, I instantly feel more excited about going to the gym, just so I can wear my new clothes.

Thats a good idea. I normally just buy street clothes, havent bought new workout clothes in ages. Hmm..

I wish i had done this. Although when you lose weight you start to feel slimmer and your clothes fit better, it's probably not the same as SEEING it. We all love the inches off, or lower numbers on the scale, but it's hard to visualise just how much you actually changed.

I Love Body Pump
Im the same K8yk. I tried the body combat and body vive but i just felt they weren't high energy enough.

I tend to go through phases, so sometimes im really into something and then incorporate it in my workout then i guess i get bored and move on. I rely on classes for my cardio variety otherwise u would just run all the time so this gym is really bumming me out.

your best advice...
Set realistic goals.

Be realistic about:
1. How much weight you SHOULD actually lose

2. What you will look like when you do lose weight (nothing wrong with fantasising but if you're 5ft 8 with a large build chances are you will never look like your petite asian best friend even at your lowest healthy weight)

3. In what time you should lose the weight. In this instant gratification society we live in, faster in this case is not better. If you tell yourself that you plan to lose 30lbs in 6 weeks well then you are surely setting yourself up to fail, even if only in the long term.
