Oatmeal sure spiked my blood sugar!
My Dad is Diabetic type 2, and I am not Diabetic, so far but I have to watch my blood sugars. I was having oatmeal but it's been bothering my eyes/blood sugar when I have it. Which means a unhealthy effect. Celery helps lower both blood pressure and cholesterol. I suggest jogging 20-40 minutes a day or some other cardio with will regulate blood sugars. For breakfast have protein and low fat. Eggs, spinach and maybe a little cheese & avocado. You could pairs an omelet with salsa. Protein and fats stabilise blood sugars. I like honey but it metabolises like sugar in my body. I sweeten my coffee, foods, and drinks with Stevia, instead of other things and it works the best for me.

How Often Do you weigh yourself?
I personally don't own a scale. But I would notice if the fat on my arms and legs get leaner or with more cushion, although it may a while. I last got weighed at a doctor appointment. I might check if my parents scale works, because it might help me know if what I've been doing is working or not.
