Hubby has been doing time restricted eating and lost 16 lb from June 4 (186 to 170). He is quite active and weight has been bouncing up and down 2-3 lb a day for him. Am watching "The Perfect Human Diet" on Prime and we were commiserating with each other about the toxicity of grains and we refuse to give up bread yada yada. It occurred to me he likely is not getting enough protein, should be 150 Gm minimum. I plugged his food into my FS and he is way below protein (only 66 Gm) and under calories at 1800. He is now working on getting in a third meal and plan to be more deliberate about protein. You don't know how crappy your diet is until you really take a look at it. I think it gets to the point where bread and pizza are edged out because calorie for calorie, the amount of nutrition provided is inferior.

Gained 6# from after two day refeed. Combed the fasting Reddit for elimination advice. The most effective intervention is magnesium, so I dissolved 2 Tb epsom salts in 8 oz water. I want fast results and this is the maximum dose per the package directions. I don't mind the water weight fluctuations, but having no predictable bathroom pattern is stressing me out, despite "feeling fine."

I noticed day before yesterday that Joe Not Exotic is inactive. I am hopeful that self care formed the basis for his decision.

Will break fast today. Have fasted 7 days, 11 hours. Net loss is 9.2 lb. Because I still eat bread and sugar, I carry a lot of fluid. I record daily weights on my fasting app and only record changes to my fasted weight here. Total weight lost this fast is 16.2 lb.
I'm feeling good, but tired of fasting. Am ready to eat.
I added twice the water I should have to my bone broth and it isn't that beautiful gelatin it was the last time. Lesson learned.

Breaking fast tomorrow morning with Pelz bone broth, probiotic, veg, protein protocol. I learned the original alfredo sauce was only butter, grated parmesan cheese, and pasta water. Hubs doesn't like alfredo, so thinking of making regular spaghetti with meat sauce for him and snagging some of that water for my pasta free alfredo. The veg will be mushroom and spinach and I think it will be okay. Used to make veg lasagne with spinach and mushroom and the flavors went well together.
