On the journey from 380 lbs to some form of health. So far I've gotten off all my cholesterol and diabetes medications to the astonishment and praise of my doctor. I go in every 3 months to get a full blood screen and check-up to be sure I'm not causing other problems.

At this point, I'm 100% sure the weight and eating problems for most is simply the incorrect assumption that we need to eat carbohydrates.

I do Keto at the < 25g of carbohydrates per day, but usually just happily eat a carnivore style of 70-80% fat to 20-30% protein.

I am tracking what I'm doing here mostly for myself if it helps you or if you have any questions, let me know. I'm going to detail the little lessons I learn on my journey to better health and great-tasting food.

I am trying to create low-carb life that is easy, tasty, and works for most. I will be varying between carnivore and slightly little "dirty keto," and I'm honest about it.

Life is worth living, even if you sometimes get a little dirty, so it's better to enjoy and then correct.

Low-Carb diet suggestions?
Sorry, my original reply to you got filtered because it had a lot of links to foods and sources on Amazon. I've shifted from a heavy-carb diet to a near zero-carb diet and feel great. There are a lot of options and we can exchange ideas in "small" doses.

For now, there are some great items, and you must be a carb detective (they are sneaky and everywhere).

Some suggestions:

Discover Chaffles! These are the biggest game changer for me. I missed bread and buns for burgers. Chaffles work great as bread, bagels, and buns. You'll be surprised!

There are some seasonings from a company called Flavor Gods that are amazing and all have zero-sugars.

At Costco, there are these sausage sticks called Bavarian Meats Lil' Landjaeger Hardwood Smoked Zero Sugar sausage sticks. They are fantastic.

Also, at Costco, there are these things called Whisps, which are parmesan cheese crisps that work great as snacks. You can scope cream cheese with them and really enjoy a long snack break.

Hope that helps.

OMAD + Keto
Hi, I have been doing this style for just over 2 years. I've started documenting everything I've learned so I can share it with my family. There are a lot of opinions out there. It is worth finding the research and quality information sources. Also, every single person is different so what works for you will be specific to you. If you want to chat I'm definitely available to share notes and support.

When do you make your daily entries?
I don't have the patience to plan ahead. I make sure the right stuff is in the fridge, and when I get hungry and have enough free time to make and eat something, I do it. I record what I'm eating while it is cooking or after the meal. If there isn't enough free time or I'm not hungry I don't eat. I am entering every single thing I eat through July. This is mainly so I can see the macro distribution. I hope this will help me better balance the foods in the long run. With low-carb eating, it isn't about the calories. The low-carb (aka ketogenic) lifestyle is just ensuring there are nearly no carbs by grams, and generally a balance between fats and proteins.
